KTVT CBS 11 just sent me an e-mail saying that The Dallas Mavericks has fired Avery Johnson as there Head Coach.

This really isn't a shock considering the talent he has had on that team and always coming up short in the playoffs.

But why would they want Avery Johnson? A coach who lost 4 straight in the Final s and lost to a 8th seed in round 1 last year and lost to a team in round 1 this year that wasn't in the playoffs last year. The Suns coach may get a pass because he has lost to the Spurs 2 years in a row so he may escape the FIRING bullet-lol

Well, Rick Carlisle is in Dallas and Mike D'Antoni is in New York, so it looks like the Bulls will have Avery Johnson as their coach!

I heard some chatter the other day, and there was talk of Doug Collins going back to Chicago (he was the coach in the mid-late 1980s) and Avery Johnson heading to Detroit in light of Flip Saunders being fired.
