Star Wars actor Kenny Baker, who played R2-D2 in the sci-fi movies, has been struck down with a mystery illness. Baker, 77, was admitted to a hospital in the U.K. on Wednesday after falling ill following a vacation in the U.S.
Friends feared Baker was "seriously ill," however it is expected he will return to his home in Lancashire, England, later this week.
A relative tells British newspaper The Sun, "Kenny's conscious and talking, hopefully he'll be absolutely fine."
The 3-foot 8-inch tall star has appeared as the legendary robot in all six films of the Star Wars franchise.
