I guess the people in charge probably thought it was funnier that way and more shock-inducing. Kinda like "OMG I can't believe this is happening, let's see it in slow-mo!"

I'd hate to see Mel's insurance premiums - but I can just imagine him hitting the roof when he saw them! :rofl:
