A girlfriend of mine texted me while I was at work last night.

To inform me that one of my teachers from my alma mater was MURDERED early on Saturday morning (around 2am - 4am sometime). Someone broke into her house, murdered her and then left.

I had *JUST* seen that very same teacher not even 12 HOURS prior, on Friday afternoon - I was in town for my alma mater's homecoming weekend, and I stopped over at the school to see if there were any teachers around who hadn't yet left for the weekend. She was one of these who hadn't yet left, but she did soon after I talked to her.

Do you guys know how creepy it is to realize that?

Also, a guy friend who I'd been hanging with over the weekend, was the last person she knew to see her alive. Now THAT is creepy. omg:

She had been scheduled to lead "The Star-Spangled Banner" before my alma mater's homecoming basketball game on Saturday afternoon. When she didn't make it to the game, the special guest speaker that my alma mater had gotten to come to school, took over.

I don't even know what to think. omg: What a horrible, Horrible, HORRIBLE way to start the weekend. I'm sure that my alma mater is going to have an assembly about this in just a little bit here, since it's Monday morning now.

She was teacher #2 of mine to die in NOT EVEN A YEAR. Needless to say, I'm disturbed. Both teachers met their demise in a violent way (#1 had a heart attack while driving and this caused him to slam his truck into an utility pole. We still don't know which one killed him - so no idea if he was already dead before he met the pole head-on. This was on 20 March 2007, BTW). Dear god, I really don't want any other teachers of mine to continue dying in a violent manner. :(

I have no idea how old she was, but she couldn't have been more than 40, 45 years old. Geez.

PZelda, I'm so sorry to hear that. It is weird when you talk to somebody hours before they pass on. I'm no therapist, but if want to talk, PM me. From one 'MF' fan to another. :)

One of my ex-bosses was murdered by his GF.....It's a weird feeling to know a murder victim (Especially here where such things are extremely rare)

That is terrible :( Everything about a person's death seems to hurt so much worse when it's violent, such as a murder. I feel so sad for her students, friends and family.

Well, I found out nobody broke in... there were no signs of forced entry. So, it's likely my teacher knew her killer.

I found out more about what happened... After she didn't show up at the b-ball game on Saturday afternoon, people who had her # attempted to call & text her and never got a response.

Late yesterday morning/early afternoon, another teacher from that school (Pam) - who is very good friends w/ my mom and me, btw - headed on down to the murdered teacher's house to see if she could find what was up. Pam saw the teacher's car in the garage. Upon seeing this, she knew something was wrong. So Pam called yet another fellow teacher -- who has been retired for five years -- to ask her what she thought about going inside. The retired teacher told Pam not to go inside until she'd called the police. Pam heeded the retired teacher's advice and did not go inside until she had the police in tow. It was then that they made the unfortunate discovery. :(

I can't believe it. Someone I've known for nearly 13 years... of whom I had JUST talked to in person on Friday... GONE. Because some stupid ****er decided she absolutely didn't deserve to live any more, and killed her.

I know exactly how you feel  It just constantly reminds you of what a crazy world we are living in now. Makes me mad to hear these stories, i hope you and all her students are ok. Hope you all can catch who did it and beat the living s*** out of them.

that is so sad to hear. and you have every right to be pissed off. society is scary these days. and the fact that the teacher knew her attacker most likely is even more chilly. who would want to kill her? people are dumb & need to stop committing murders. =/ let us know what happens with this & if they catch the killer.

That story is bone-chilling. I'm so sorry, Allison. I wouldn't know where to begin to process that in my mind. Who would do such a horrible thing to a defenseless woman? I bet it will be an ex-boyfriend or a nutcake stalker. How sad, senseless and tragic. My prayers to her, and her loved ones. :(

I know... I'm freaked out as **** about this. My mom knew the teacher, too. We were talking about this last night when I went to visit her. I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that someone I had JUST talked to on Friday afternoon met such a violent demise barely 12 hours later. My mom is having a hard time believing it herself. :( I mean... HOW? O.o

Ugggghhhh. They're planning a memorial service at my alma mater for Thursday, since she was still teaching at the time of her... *sigh* murder. I don't know where it'll go from there. I plan to attend both the memorial & funeral services.

Well, now that case is closed.

They found her killer about two weeks after I made that thread. They put him in jail on a $500,000 bond that nobody came forward to pay, so he was in jail the whole time. In December, he finally pleaded guilty to her murder (there was another trial in July where he pleaded not guilty).

Today was the sentencing hearing for him, and I was there for it. He got life in prison, to be eligible for parole in 2039. He HAS to serve 25 years to be considered for parole, and even so it's doubtful he's going to be granted parole in 30 years.

That's scary. I would hate to hear that one of my professors had been murdered after seeing them the day before. :( I really wish that there was a way for troubled people to get proper treatment before they can be sent over the edge, but with the way the world is at the moment, no one can afford it. I'm getting sick of things like this happening to people.

I'm glad to hear that justice has been served and this guy is going away for a long time. I hope you will now be able to have closure on this situation.

That is a terrible thing. I pray that her family finally finds some closure. I'm glad to hear the scumbag is getting what he deserves. Too bad it wasn't the death penalty. He will still have to face God some day.
