Hello everyone! This is hch, here to ask this question: Did you ever wonder what was playing on the radio or what song was a big hit when a classic show was originally on the air?
Well, recently, I had been working on lists of songs that topped the Billboard charts when the shows originally aired. I have finished the song listing of your favorite show and mine "The Facts of Life". Some of the stuff on these list will bound to amaze you and have you thinking "Wow! I never knew that!" The songs featured are the Soul and Pop hits of the era, so it's a little something for everybody (the MTV crowd and the BET crowd).
1985 became a turning point for the show. Edna's Edibles had burned to the ground, and from its ashes arose the new store "Over Our Heads". George Clooney joined the cast, as did Andy Moffett. It was also the beginning of the end of an era for all of us when Mrs. Garrett leaves the show and Beverly Ann Stickle comes in to take her place in 1986. Jo and Blair graduated from Langley college, and Natalie and Tootie graduated from Eastland and were all seen embarking on adult life. Finally in 1988, Jo gets married to a musician, Natalie moved to New York, Tootie got engaged to her long-time boyfriend Jeff, Beverly Ann adopted Andy and took in Pippa from Australia and Blair buys Eastland school which ended the nine year run of "The Facts of Life". Here is a listing to the songs that topped the charts during FOL's final years, 1985 to 1988.
