Have any of you guys ever heard this song by Johnny Rivers? It was also a television show years ago, as this being the theme song.

I really like the song and think it fits Get Smart *very* well. And someone even did a GS video to it on youtube. It can be found here:

(I've thought of doing one myself)

Here are the lyrics:

There's a man who leads a life of danger
To everyone he meets
He stays a stranger
With every move he makes
Another chance he takes
Odds are he won't live to see tomorrow

Secret agent man
Secret agent man
They've given you a number
And taken away your name

Beware of pretty faces that you find
A pretty face can hide an evil mind
Ah, be careful what you say
Or you'll give yourself away
Odds are you won't live to see tomorrow

Secret agent man
Secret agent man
They've given you a number
And taken away your name

Secret agent man
Secret agent man
They've given you a number
And taken away your name

Swingin' on the Riviera one day
And then layin' in the Bombay Alley next day
Oh no, you let the wrong word slip
While kissing persuasive lips
The odds are you won't live to see tomorrow

Secret agent man
Secret agent man
They've given you a number
And taken away your name

Secret agent man

OH Nuts!

A great song by Johnny Rivers that went to #3 on the Billboard Chart.

The song is currently being used in a commercial for (I think) Chase bank. I've tried to find it on YouTube but so far have been unsuccessful. I agree, it is a terrific tune.

It's one of the few times that JRs got on the charts without ripping off Chuck Berry!

You made me think of another song by Nancy Sinatra that might have been a good song for 99 to sing. It's called 'The Last of the Secret Agents'. One part I particularly like is when she sings:
I've never had to slap his face, what a shame.
She sounds like she wished he could be a little more adventurous with her.

He's never caught one spy I've been told
He's never even caught a cold
Got his degree from Disneyland
He's the last of the secret agents
And he's my man

He's an underwhelming kind of sleuth
He thinks James Bond is some kind of suit
He's farther back than also ran
But he's the last of the secret agents
And he's my man

He'd come in third in a two-horse race
I've never had to slap his face
(What a shame)
Now people try to understand
He's the last of the secret agents
And he's my man

He's the last of the secret agents
And he's my man
He's the last of the secret agents
And he's my man

Even though you are talking about the woman in the song, that made me think moments ago that 99 did slap Max once!

In the episode where they were in the desert and Max had eaten all of his "salty buttons" and wanted hers!

(but he wasn't really himself there)

or romanticly motivated. Great episode too.

Yes, very good episode.

"But Max..."

"I don't care!"
