We had some snow flurries today. Tonight, when we had snow it was enough for it to stick on the ground some.:snowman3: I was at the mexican restaurant which is called La Parilla out in Fayetteville. I was sitting at the bar watching it snow.

It was so pretty. I was the biggest dork and went outside with my digicam. That's how much I love and miss it.
It hasn't snowed here in at least 3 years.

are they having weather updates on the hour
It was coming down pretty good early in the evening. It wasn't sticking to the streets really. Then it became a sleet mix. A lot of schools will probably be closed tomorrow. Lots of "Storm Watch 2008" updates.

Yeah, for a good while after the snow you could hear the sleet pellets coming down. I hope freezing rain doesn't follow. I HATE that stuff.

I'm checking the weather on WSB-TV 2 Atlanta website which it's possible for rain mixed with snow or sleet over the weekend coming up. It would be nice to see some more snow because it makes it pretty outside. Wouldn't it be nice to see more snow in Atlanta?

wow thats a lot of snow, mind you, we have about 3x as much atm....but, thats not too surprising, is it?
We had about 4 inches of snow last night with a thin layer of ice underneath it. But a lot of it has melted today. My cat didn't care too much for it.

Ahhh - that's really cute!
My dogs love the first snowfall of the season and after that hate it. I've been out twice today clearing and area for them to go to the bathroom in. They're only tiny pomeranians and they get buried to the necks in this weather!
I currently am looking at a 4 + foot wall of snow outside the patio - I'll try to get a pic of it tomorrow when it's light out and the storm is finished. We're to get even more snow tonight!

Thanks guys! Actually I was kidding - it's my driveway and that's my husband shovelling. I've taken different ones over the years. Here's some more:
Now THAT'S snow, not this sniveling 2 inch crap that's already a third melted.

You'd love it at first and we do, but it's if you have to drive and get around in it. It can be pretty miserable. Same with the shoveling. But I do have to admit, I'd miss it like mad at Christmas. (Although not all our Christmas's are white, I'm a little north of Toronto we do tend to get more snow than they usually do. This year's been the exception though - they're getting just as much.)
Wait 'til you guys see the pic I'll post tomorrow out my window right now. It's now at least 5' high. And it's right by a dryer vent so it might have melted it down a bit but it's still crazy. Can't take a pic in the dark so will wait until tomorrow. It's supposed to be a bit sunny.
Here's a few more. I think these were taken of the first snowfall one year which was quite a bit at once. The other (sunny one) was taken in early spring one year.

Wow! These are some gorgeous pictures that were taken during the snow. We never get to have white Christmases in Atlanta. I remember 15 years ago when we had a blizzard in March 1993. At least we survived the Blizzard of '93.

Wow! I'm so jealous of you right now... and here I was happy with the cold weather we're having...now I want that snow! :p Is that wall of snow covering something or did it just fall that way? Looks pretty cool.

LOL - sure! We've still got a two-foot wall at the end of our driveway that the snowplow left when it came by. I'm too tired to get it - already shovelled out a section at the back of the house so the dogs could go to the bathroom. The snow is over their heads and they're tiny enough that they just drop through it when they go out the poor things!

That's true. I can see how tiring it can get just trying to clear that snow out of the driveway & driving in it takes extra caution. The closest I've been to snow is Big Bear Lake in CA. lol.

 - Yeah - I always feel for them when they have to go out in a storm. Bad enough stepping out "naked", but then to be expected "go" on cue and up to your armpits in snow!
Those icicles get huge - from roof to ground. We had a lousy job done a few years back on the eaves and that's what happens. It is beautiful but can be dangerous (happens on the 2nd floor too over the back door). I wish I could find doggy size hard hats!
I have to admit, as much as I'd love to move to a warm climate for a couple of years, I know I'd miss our changing seasons. Each one can have it's own charm. I think I love the autumn the most though. Especially up the hills where we are. The colours are breathtaking. PA is amazing for that too.

There was a snowstorm here in Memphis, TN as well last Saturday. It snowed at least 3 inches at most. Most of it's melted away, but there's still some snow left.
