When I Go To The Grocery Store, I Buy Sweets But When My Dad Goes Shopping...........

, he won't buy cookies, ice cream, apple pie, apple juice. He eats and drinks up that stuff when i buy it and i get mad about it because when he goes shopping, he won't buy that stuff and he knows he likes that stuff. I wish he would stop being cheap. I remember when i was a kid, my dad and my mom would buy Corn Flakes and Home Pride wheat bread and i hated eating that stuff. My mom still goes grocery shopping and she goes to BJ's Warehouse and they sell their groceries in bulk. I don't like it when she buys stuff in bulk because it takes up too much space in the cupboards and refrigerator. My parents got so many canned goods in the cupboards and that stuff will probably never get eaten. I told them they should give that food to the homeless shelters but they don't wanna do that. I know the homeless will eat it.

I suppose your dad is trying to buy healthy food for the family. If you want to buy a few sweets and keep your dad from eating them, you may have to put them in your room. (lol!)

My dad has always been cheap when it comes to buying stuff. He used to buy my brother and i cheap clothes and cheap sneakers when he went school shopping for us. I always got teased and laughed at at school because of my clothes and sneakers.

There is nothing wrong with trying to save money. My mom doesn't spend alot on food either and the reason is that she can't afford to.

It could be that he's doing the best he can, but money is an issue. It's hard supporting a family.

Isiah, sometimes fathers do things like that so they can save money for the future. My dad didn't have to be thrifty or cheap, but he did it so he can give us the money when he passed away. I am sure your dad grew up being "cheap" because that is how his family raised him.

Well if parents are gonna be cheap towards their kids, then they shouldn't have kids. I didn't ask to be born. My dad's mother was cheap because she didn't have a job most of her life and i don't know why. She lived off of welfare he told me. My dad has 2 sisters so i know it's hard for parents to take care of kids financially but my dad told me his father left his mother when he was a little boy.

That depends on your defintion of being cheap. Parents are supposed to provide their kids with food, clothes and shelter. That is what your parents have done. There is no law that says they must be name brand designer clothes or that parents must buy their kids all the junk food they can eat.
