From armyarcherd.com:
This star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame will have a special group of sponsors. They are the friends of Suzanne Pleshette who have "chipped in," she tells me, to give her star on her 71st birthday, Jan. 31. The presentation will be made in front of Frederick's of Hollywood to Pleshette's delight. She laughed, "It'll be tits, tits and more tits!"
Johnny Grant told me: "Tina Sinatra came to me with an idea that friends wanted to do this for Suzanne. I got the (Star) committee together immediately (two months ago) and had no problem getting approval."
It's no secret Suzanne has been battling cancer and had undergone chemotherapy last year. While her appearances have been very few, she did participate in the tribute to her longtime costar and friend Bob Newhart at the Museum of Television and Radio in Beverly Hills, and as usual, she brought down the house with her down-to-earth bawdy humor. I must say Suzanne was her same upbeat self today when we spoke on the phone, promising to "put on some lipstick to be there." And Grant also promised, "Even if she can't make it--we'll pipe in the ceremony to her bedside." I'm betting she'll be at Frederick's."You'll find it easily," she told me,"instead of a flag outside, a bra will be flying!"

Whoa, she's in the EXPENSIVE section of the Walk of Fame! (The part with perpetual care.) I'll bet that ceremony will be flanked by loads of people like Bob, Marcia, Jack, Peter, and (maybe) Bill (that's shaky at best with him in Albuq).
Anyone know what time that ceremony is at?????

Since my previous question, I found the ceremony announced on www.seeing-stars.com website. That particular website is pretty accurate with their information, and usually much quicker to announce the star ceremonies than the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Website. (The latter often waits until AFTER the fact to announce the ceremony, making it more difficult for someone counting on them to get to the ceremony.)
The ceremony will be on Thursday, January 31st, at 11:30 am, just off of the Graumann's Chinese Theatre area.

I'm going to try to go up, if I possibly can. But it depends on transportation! If I go up, I'll report back here when I get back -

Despite this morning's news (about the passing of Suzanne), I'm still planning to go. So I'll do what I can to take pictures. But it will be sad to see a star and no Suzanne there to receive it.....

I'm glad you're still going. It's so sad that she passed less than 2 weeks before the ceremony (and her birthday!)...but I'm sure Bob, Marcia, and Peter among others will be there to remember her and make it a very special occasion...
Even if you don't get any pictures, Donna, I'm sure you'll have lots of wonderful stories to share. It's great to have such a terrific BNS fan on this board!!! :D

Here's what's transpired since this past weekend:
Hollywoodchamber.net has still not posted the ceremony at all. They have this tendency to wait until about 5 days ahead of time and THEN post it. This makes it really hard for fans who have to travel long distances for these things, to plan.
www.seeing-stars.com is much more reliable. They have been reporting the ceremony since right after armyarchard's column hit. Seeing-stars listed it as "up in the air".
I contacted the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce directly by email and asked if there would be any change to the time or date of the ceremony due to Suzanne's untimely passing. The short, quick and curt reply was "The ceremony will go on as planned." I emailed the webmaster at seeing-stars, too, so that they could list the ceremony properly.
It's a shame that the Hollywood Chamber makes us jump through hoops like that just to get information.

Just from Bill Daily's mouth this morning - Hollywood Chamber is springing to make sure that ALL of them are there....or was, before Suzanne's death.

Unfortunately, Bill will NOT be there. He's not going, for whatever reasons - my contact asked him, and he said he's not. I was looking forward to seeing him especially - and was planning to bring him some Krispy Kreme donuts (which he LOVES).
OH Nuts!

Update: The Hollywood Chamber was reporting a different place for the star, for the longest time. They are finally reporting the correct address, which IS (as army archand's column stated) right in front of the new Frederick's of Hollywood. For a few days they had her down the street about 2 blocks, I think.
