I liked that part too, they should have brought him back for more appearances. I looked him up on IMDB, and looks like he only has Amen to his only Hollywood credit, but according to that info, he's a real life preacher.

I too really enjoyed Rev. Johnny, and he indeed was (and still is) a real-life preacher. His name is Rev. William Hudson III, and here is is website:

As usual, I am late responding to posts that are addressed to me. :rolleyes: How do I overlook this stuff? Sorry Solomon. Rev. Johnny was one of my favorites. As a kid, I remember reading in a local paper that he was a real life minister. I though that it was cool.

Yes, and all everyone else wanted to do was eat. Every time they made a move towards the kitchen, one of the preachers would start right back up again. :rofl:

I would say out of all the Amen eps, only about 15-20 were worth recording and this ep woth reverend johnny was defintely one of them-lol

i just watched that one this morning for a few laughs. that and the one about the church being on tv and everyone was afraid to be near ruben out of fear they would be shot. i would have loved to see how long they were gonna carry on.

This was a funny episode. When I was kid, I that Rev Johnny was so annoying but I was ten years old. LOL. I feel differently.

I think it's great that both of the duelin' preachers were and are also preachers in real life. I also like the line Clifton Davis says at the end: "This isn't my work, or your work. It's the Lord's work." :D
