I think they might film some in LA and sometimes film in San Francisco. I was watching it and my mom's boyfriend was watching it after I had taped it and he seen the part where Magda went to go bust thoughs people with drugs on the peir. He named exactly where that peir was. It is in LA he knows that because he grew up in LA and has been to that place himself. Hopefully that helps you out...

Usually shows do location shots. I was in DC last semester for a special school program and the West Wing was there twice for a few days to do special outside shoots. My friend is a huge West Wing fan and was running all over DC trying to find out where they were shooting at. I know ER goes to Chicago a few times to do location shoots.

It said in Nancy's Intimate Portrait that the pilot was filmed in Vancouver, Canada.
