How do you feel about them? The season is coming up for the major office get-together of the year!

Personally, I hate them. I've never gotten really "buddy-buddy" with the people I work with, and I don't feel like being a wallflower. And I don't like certain people I work with anyway.

Our division has a yearly Christmas party the week before we get off for our 17-day Christmas vacation (sometime in mid-December). We have a potluck and do a gift exchange game. I think it's a lot of fun!

One of our instructors is co-owner of a bar downtown, and he reserved one evening to host an out-of-work Christmas and end-of-semester party. The first round of drinks are on the house. That should be in early December. He did that back in 2004, and it was a lot of fun! I can't wait for it this year after a three-year hiatus.

Of course, it also depends on the people as well. My co-workers are fun, and I get along with them. Therefore, it's not so bad. I am lucky, I suppose.

I would say so. I work with people whom I'm pretty sure have backstabbed me in the past, so I don't feel like being me, so to speak, around them.

Yeah, that's understandable. I would feel the same way as well.

I agree with Dawson, i work for money, not to make friends or socialise, when i'm done at work, I want to go home and leave my co-workers behind

There was a customer where I used to work that did the same thing. He owns a few clubs/bars in the area and closes part of it down for us to host our party. We'd have a free round of drinks and free food. It's always a sight to see those stuck up people begin to air their dirty laundry after one shot. I'm friends with many of the people I worked with so the parties are always fun.

Depends on the surroundings. Depends on the party.

:yeahthat We don't have a Christmas party (due to the fact that many people I work with are Jews and Jehovah's Witnesses), but we do have an annual company picnic, plus many potlucks and whatnot throughout the year. I really like my co-workers, so it's fun. It's all good. :D

I love them especially Christmas parties, we have a big gathering a day before Christmas eve. Everyone brings a sweet treat, either homemade or store bought. We play Christmas music talk and just have fun. I've been with this company for almost 6 years so it's fun.

I was never a fan of work gatherings. The last place I worked was a huge company and had everything going on, summer picnics, retirement parties, and holiday parties. I was often uncomfortable at them, even though I really liked my co-workers. I'm like Elaine Benis on Seinfeld. She hated the parties too, lol.

I never dance in public. I dance alone... with the door closed... and locked

I actually really enjoy them, I am on the social committee at work so I get to meet the staff quite often in a non work setting. With 700 employees there are certainly several people I tend to avaoid but many that I enjoy spending time with.

That's me. I never attend the company's Christmas party. It's always held at the Hilton hotel. I see these people during the week, I sure don't want to see them on my day off. I don't drink and most go to drink.

I don't like the Parties and I don't get a long with some people either. I'm thinking of just calling in that day of the Party so I don't always get stuck taking pictures, not sure yet!!! I am just in that cranky mood this year for people who I work with cant trust co-workers.
