Week 5 : Ratings

The Big Bang Theory made some nice gains in the ratings this week. Here it is from CBS press release :

"HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER" AND "THE BIG BANG THEORY" POST BIG WEEK-TO-WEEK GAINS "Mother" Up +10% in Adults 18-49; "Big Bang" Gains+13% in Adults 18-49.


THE BIG BANG THEORY was second in households (5.6/08), viewers (8.72m), adults 25-54 (4.2/09) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09). THE BIG BANG THEORY built on its HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER lead-in by +2% in households, +5% in adults 25-54, +3% in adults 18-49 and added +120,000 viewers.



Compared to last week, THE BIG BANG THEORY was up +8% in households (from 5.2/08), +14% in adults 25-54 (from 3.7/09), +13% in adults 18-49 (from 3.1/08) and added +780,000 viewers (from 7.94m, +10%).

Wow, that's a pretty big jump from last week. I guess there must be some reason why ratings were down last week, or some reason why they were up this week. Hopefully it can maintain this from week to week.

Wow, that's a pretty big jump from last week. I guess there must be some reason why ratings were down last week, or some reason why they were up this week. Hopefully it can maintain this from week to week.

The big reason is no baseball on FOX. Last week FOX had baseball on, and apparently sitcom watchers like baseball. Next week is a World Series game, so I would expect another drop, but that is the last baseball game against it, so I would hope it stabilizes after that.

The final numbers are and The Big Bang Theory numbers went up.

- 8.806 million viewers
- 5.5/8 HH
- 3.5/9 A18-49

How I Met Your Mother
- 8.504 million viewers
- 5.4/8 HH
- 3.4/9 A18-49

Also, beat HIMYM by 302,000 instead of just 120,000 in the fast nationals. Very, very good news for this show.:D
