The Edmund Perry award is a fictional mental award I give kids who are bright and school-minded. :) Edmund Perry was a 17 year old honors student who was shot to death just days after graduating from a prestigious prep school, named Exeter, becasue he mugged a policeman who had a gun.(I feel like bursting into tears when I read this story. Eddie had so much life and such a bright future going for him, :( )
I gave a 16 year old that I met at a bus stop the mental Edmund Perry award(remember, fictional award, :lol: ) because he was a bright, school-focused student. I seriously beleive in reincarntion now, after meeting this boy.:eek: :) I seriously believed that this boy was Edmund Perry, reincarnated! :eek: :)
He was chatting on the phone with his girlfriend, and was like, "Sally, the reason you are failing is because you don't study. It's your own fault that you are not passing your classes. if you would turn off the TV and study, you would be fine. Now go turn off the TV and go study(doesn't this sound like something a TEACHER would tell his students?:crazy: :lol: ) Then he began gloating to me that he had been passing all of his classes. :crazy:
He even acted like Eddie, in that, he wasn't afraid to say things that weren't out of the box(Eddie's teachers said he was like that). He told me he once had a teacher that was very strict about rules and ALWAYS followed the rules. He told me he said, "Mrs. Jackson, if there is a gunman about to shoot you, and the only way you can get to safety is to go through a gate that clearly says, "No Tresspassing", wouldn't you go through it?'" he told me his teacher said "Yes," and said that he had a point. He seemed just like Eddie, someone with a challenging mind(I didn't say CHALLENGED, ;) ), and who was very smart.
I told him, "Now what ever you do, don't mug anybody."(I almost swear, this guy was Eddie, freaky). He told me, " I would never go around mugging people. I've way too much of a life to do that. Why would I mug somebody>? it's worthless and senseless." (The same thing people said about Eddie after Eddie died. "He wouldn't do that. He woudldn't do something as senseless and worthless as a mugging"). I don't think people who say they see the spirit of dead people in other people are crazy, after I met this guy.................
