Ugly Betty star Eric Mabius has a method for repelling amorous fans - he shows them a photograph of his baby son. The 36-year-old actor is happy to play womanizing editor Daniel Meade in the hit TV show, but will never be tempted to stray from wife Ivy and son Maxfield.
He says, "I get out a picture of my baby boy, then show them my wedding ring. I have the best of both worlds because I exorcise my demons in the show as the guy who sleeps around but in real life I go home to my family.

some people expect that the majority of tv and film actors would act like, behave like and have the exact personality of the characters that they play when really in most cases, that is not always true. being a fan of ugly betty i have never been a fan of wilhemina and daniel. as for amanda, it was towards the last few episodes of the last season i have found her funny and my view of her had changed slightly, and plus her double act with marc is always hilarious. alas, i admired the actors who play them so well, vanessa, eric and becki because they are totally different people in real life, in contrast to their on screen characters.
nice to read that like the rest of the cast, eric is so down-to-earth in comparison to his namesake, daniel meade on the show
