Recently, through virtue of digital cable, I have gained access to AmericanLife TV (http://www.americanlifetv.com/), which shows a lot of classic programs. If I had the time, I would probably watch it three or four hours a day. As it is, I am trying to catch The Gallant Men every Tuesday and other shows now and then. At the moment I am watching an episode of The Color Honeymooners and I must say the quality is atrocious. Whenever there is movement, the image becomes pixelated and there are all sorts of artifacts around whatever is moving.

At first I thought it was just the quality of this particular episode of The Color Honeymooners, but during a commercial the same pixelation continued. Has anyone else run into this? Since I do not watch the channel much, I have no idea if this is uncommon or not.

I no longer have the channel. My Comcast dropped it in March. I do remember several times where the picture became pixelated or the signal dropped out entirely. I thought it was just my cable system, but I think that channel has a weak signal.

I noticed when watching the Honeymooners in color, it is not the best quality. However, watching L.A. Law right now on that same channel and it is clear, pristine quality. I guess it depends which shows are airing and the quality of the film.

When I used to have Goodlife/AmericanLife, it would sometimes do that too, but a lot of my digital cable channels would do that. I think it just depends on the sort of signal. Some shows aired fine ("Flamingo Road" and "Homefront" NEVER glitched for me, thank goodness), but others messed up every now and then (which is why I could never watch "Mayberry RFD" or "I'll Fly Away").
