in my bedroom i have a tv/dvd combination.my question how would i hook my vcr up to that so that i can transfer a dvd to a video tape

i don't know if this forum is the right place for this, but I'll answer it anyways...

I think that the Macrovision security kicks in when you try to do that, I think you will notice that if you even if you hook your dvd player up to output through your VCR - even just to view it on your TV - it makes the brightness pulse to prevent you from copying it, and making it very annoying to even watch it.

there are better ways to back up dvd's, but that sort of topic isn't really allowed on this site.

well, if its anything to do with copying copyrighted dvds then its definitely not OK

if this is a home-made dvd, it shouldn't have any protection on it, and you should be able to hook up the output from the back of your DVD player into an input on the VCR and you'll be good to go
