Doctors Office

Doctor: Edna, the tests have come back and we still don’t know what you have. I’ll be honest with you by the way that you have been weak I don’t think you have too much longer to live. I’m very sorry.

Over Our Heads/Beverly Ann’s and Mrs. Garret’s home

Mrs. Garret: Beverly Ann I just wish that I had made my life more meaningful.

Ba: Edna you raised 2 sons, basically raised 4 girls ran 2 stores, and you’ve joined the Peace Corps. Now if that isn’t meaningful I don’t know what is.

Mg: Then how come I got married and divorced to a jerk, let my 2nd husband die, my sons are barely around, the store is failing, and the girls haven’t spoken to me or each other in 15 years?

Ba: you know that your sons and the girls are very successful and without you who knows where they’d be. You also know that Bruce died of a stroke and there was nothing you could do about it.

Mg: I just wish my girls were here. I’m going to go take a nap.

Ba: (to herself) Beverly Ann you’ve just had the best idea ever. (She goes to the phone and starts dialing a number)

Ba: Hi Jo it's Beverly Ann

J: Hey it's been awhile. How's ya doin'? Mrs. G all right?

Ba: Yeah we're both fine. Well I just wanted to see if maybe you could come up for a visit next week. I was also thinking about inviting the others?

J: Well with everything that has happened I don't think that that would be a good idea. Maybe when everyone else isn't there I can come up.

Ba: Well I could just have you girls up at different times you know. Please we've really missed ya?

J: Well sure. How about next week. Ya know I'm a teacher and next week is off. Maybe I could bring my husband and daughter up.

Ba: Sure that would be great. Can't wait to see you. Bye

J: Bye

Ba: Everyone and everything is fine. I was just wondering if maybe you would like to come for a visit next week. I was thinking about inviting the other girls too.

B: Um well I don’t think that would be too great after everything that happened.

Ba: Well do you think that maybe you could just come up next week and the other girls probably feel the same so everyone could just come up at a different time.

B: Well I have missed Mrs. Garrett and you so yeah I guess I could.

Ba: Great I’ll see you soon.

B: Alright bye. Oh yeah can I bring my husband and daughter.

Ba: Sure. Bye

N: Hey. Is everything all right? I haven't heard from you in awhile?

Ba: Yes everything is fine. I was just wondering if maybe you could come and visit Edna and I. we've really missed you.

N: Are the others going to be there cause if so I don't think that I should come. I wouldn't want my children to witness the aftermath of what happened before.

Ba: No the others won't be here.

N: ok then I can come. When would you want me to come?

Ba: How about next week?

N: Sure. My children and husband will come too.

Ba: Ok bye.

N: Bye see ya soon.

Ba: Yay, yay, yay. One more to go. Movie star time.

T: I don’t know. Are the other girls going to be there? I don’t want to get blood on my perfect clothes. You know things around here are really expensive.

Ba: They’re all coming different weeks so don’t worry.

T: Alright. I think I can take time off for you and Mrs. Garret.

Ba: Alright see you next week.

T: Ok bye

Ba: Bye.

Ba: Now lets just hope this works.

Someone knocks on the door
Ba: One of them is already here.

T: Beverly Ann!!!!! Gosh I’ve missed you.

Ba: Tootie it’s so nice to see you. My goodness you haven’t changed much at all. Where’s your family?

T: Oh they’re coming soon. They stopped for some gas. I just couldn’t wait to see you.

Ba: So what has been going on in your life, you know besides the fact that you’re a big star?

T: Oh well I have two children, I’m still married to Jeff. We live in California. That is about it. Well I am about to star in my own sitcom, which will be wonderful.

Ba: I still can’t believe that you, our little Tootie, has grown up with her own family.

T: Well where is Mrs. G. I’ve really missed her. I haven’t seen her in almost 20 years. Gosh I didn’t know it had been that long.

Ba: She had to go somewhere but should be back real soon.

T: Well I think my family just pulled up.
Two children walk in with Jeff.
T: Beverly Ann I would like for you to meet my family. This is Karl my son-he is 11 and this is my daughter Kristina-she is 13. And of course you remember Jeff. Children I would like for you to meet Beverly Ann.

Kristina and Karl: Hi.

Ba: Hi kids-you know you look just like your mother. Hi Jeff it’s been awhile hasn’t it?

Jeff: Sure has. Well I think I’ll go to the hotel room and get our stuff unpacked.

Ba: No you’ll stay here. We’ve got plenty of room.

T: Are you sure-we wouldn’t want to impose?

Ba: Sure. Jeff why don’t you take your stuff upstairs.

Je: Sure
Jeff goes upstairs and the kids follow him.

T: Well I think I’ll go take a look around. Boy this place brings back some memories.

Ba: Ok Tootie. I’ll stay down here and wait for Mrs. Garret to come back.
Just then there is a knock at the door.

Ba: (to herself) Ok then now two are here.
Natalie walks in with a man and 2 children

Natalie: Hi. Miss me much

Ba: Oh Natalie you haven’t changed. Of course I missed you. And who are these people with you.

N: Oh this is my husband, Eric, and these are my two children. Do you remember Cory? He is now 15 but when I left here he was probably about 3.

Ba: oh yes I remember him. And who is this?

N: oh this is my 13-year-old daughter Cara.

Cara: Hi

Cory: Hey how’s it goin’?

Ba: Well Hi.

N: children this is Beverly Ann.

Tootie then comes downstairs
T: Hey is that Mrs. Garrett? (She then notices Natalie is standing at the door) Beverly Ann what is she doing here?

N: No what are you doing here, I was invited her for this week.

T: well so was I.
They both look at Beverly Ann expecting an explanation.

Ba: Oh well looks like I double booked. (She says very unconvincingly)

N: I don’t believe it. I’m leaving Goodbye. Nice seeing you. Tell Mrs. Garrett I said hi. Maybe I’ll call her. (She starts walking towards the door)

Ba: No Natalie don’t leave. I invited you here so that you and Tootie could work through your differences. I know it will be tough but please.

T: I’m leaving. Jeff go get the children we’ll fly back home.

Je: No I think that this fight between you and Natalie has been going on long enough. I’ll take the children to lunch then to a park or something.

Eric: I’m with him. Even though I never knew Tootie I think you should talk things out with her. The children and I will be back in a while.

N: what you can’t do this to me.

T: I’ll just call a cab.

Ba: Oh no you won’t you are both going to sit here like adults and talk this out.

Eric, Jeff and their kids leave.

N: Beverly Ann how could you do this to me?

T: trust me Natalie I don’t like it either but we won’t be able to get out of here.

Ba: Well I’ll just wait for the others to come.

N: others, as in Blair and Jo?

Ba: Well yeah. I invited them too.

T: oh boy there is going to be trouble.

N: Oh yeah. I hope my children don’t come back for a while. I don’t want them to see a murder take place.

Just then there was a knock at the door.

Ba: Well it looks like one of them is here. Girls go get in the kitchen so I can explain this to them ok.

T: I’ll go upstairs.

N: I’ll go in the kitchen.

They both leave for their destinations. Beverly Ann answers the door. Jo comes in with a child and a man.

Jo: Hey Beverly Ann. How ya doin’?

Ba: Pretty good. Well this must be your family.

J: Yeah. This is my husband Chris and this is my daughter Jackie.

Ba: Hi. Gosh Jackie you look just like your mother.

Jackie: Hey how’s it hangin’?

Ba: Act like her too. It’s hangin’ just fine.

Chris: Hi Beverly Ann. I’ve heard a lot about you.

Ba: Hi. I haven’t heard much about you but I’m sure I will.

J: So where’s Mrs. G?

Ba: Oh she had to go somewhere but she should be back soon.

C: Ok

Jo and Jackie leave for the store.

Ba: Chris I don't know if you know anything about what had gone on before but I need your help.

C: Well if you're talking about Blair and the others fight I know about it.

Ba: Well good. I've done something. I've invited the other girls here so that they could talk out their problems. It's really important. Could you take Jackie out for a while?

C: Yeah sure.

Ba: Oh thank you so much.

C: Your welcome.
Jo and Jackie come back in

J: Well we've been around so I think we should go upstairs now.

C: Well I just remembered that I forgot to get some shaving cream so I'll go to the store and get some. Jackie you wanna come with me.

Ja: Yeah sure Chris.

J: Ok but hurry back.

C: OK bye

Chris and Jackie leave

Ba: Well Jo I've kinda got something to tell you. Why don't you sit down?

J: ok sure what is it?

Ba: Well I kinda invited Blair, Natalie, and Tootie here so that you could talk out your problem. Please don't kill me. (She says all of this really fast)

J: You what?!?!? I can't believe this I'm leaving.

Ba: Chris took your car and should be gone for a while cause I told him to stay gone for a while. Now why don't you go on upstairs? Tootie is there.

J: OK but I ain't talking about nothing. I'm leaving as soon as Chris gets back here you understand that.

Ba: OK just go upstairs.

Jo goes upstairs.

Ba: She took that better than I expected it.

Laura Beth: I’m her daughter Laura Beth Warner. It’s pleasure to meet you.

Ba: well it’s nice to meet you too.

B: Well where is Mrs. Garrett?

Ba: Well she had to go somewhere but should be back soon.

B: OH ok. Well we better get settled in. Matt I’ll show you where to put our luggage.

Ba: Blair whats the rush? Do that later. Why don’t you show Laura Beth the store? There should be some cookies in there.

B: OK. Matt we’ll be right back. Come on Laura Beth.

LB: I’m coming.

Blair and Laura Beth leave

B: Matt why don’t you and I get more acquanted?

M: Ok.

Ba: Matt I need to ask you something

M: What is it?

Ba: Well I don’t know how much you know about an argument that happened between Blair and some friends.

M: well I know that there was one and that is about it.

Ba: Well it’s not important what is was about but I’ve invited the other girls here and I want them to talk out their problems. Do you think that maybe you could take Laura Beth out for a while.

M: Sure. I’ve been wanting to get more acquainted with her. I’m only her step-dad.

Ba: OH thank you.

Blair and Laura Beth return

M: Laura Beth why don’t you and I go to Bloomingdales?

LB: That’s a stupid question. Let’s go come on hurry up.

B: why are you taking her out? We just got here.

M: well I think I need to spend more time with her. You and Beverly Ann need to catch up on some things anyways.

B: Well ok.
Just then Laura Beth tries to pull Matt out the door

LB: Ok enough yappin’ more spendin’. Let’s go. Mother I’ve got your credit cards we’ll be gone for awhile.

B: OK Bye. Have fun
Matt was already pulled out the door by then

Ba: HaHa just like her mother.

Jo and tootie come down from upstairs

J: Hey I’m coming down now. (she then notices Blair) Ok I’m going back up.

B: What is she doing here. I’m leaving.

Ba: Blair I kinda scheduled for Jo, Tootie, and Natalie to be here too.

B: You what?!?!? That’s it goodbye.

Ba: Blair you have no way home. Matt just left.

B: well when he gets back I’m leaving

Ba: Blair and everyone else I called you here because Mrs. Garret and I really miss you and this arguement has been going on long enough. Now I want you to sit down and talk it out.

They all sit down but are silient.
Ba: Well who wants to go first?

N: We might as well talk and get this over with since we won’t be leaving until we do because our husbands took our cars and they are in on it too.

J: You three can talk all you want but I will never forgive Blair for what she did.

B: Well who said I was apologizing?

J: See you just admitted you did something wrong.

B: No I didn’t.

J: Yes you did because I never said that you had to apologize. I just said that I won’t forgive you.

B: Oh well still I didn’t do anything wrong!

T: Oh come on Blair we all know what you did. You had an affair with Jo’s husband.

N: Yeah Blair own up to it.

B: You two still believe Jo over me? I can’t believe this, but I don’t care cause I know the truth.

The room then became silent once again while everyone either looked at the floor or at Beverly Ann giving her death stares.

Ba: Come on girls you need to work everything out before Mrs. Garrett comes home.

N: Why?

Ba: Because Mrs. Garrett wanted to see all of you in case this is the last time she is able to…… oops.

J: Oops what do you mean by oops? What is wrong with Mrs. G?

Ba: I guess I should tell you. The doctors can’t really tell what is wrong with her but they think that she only has a little while to live and I thought that Edna would love to see her four girls together since it has been along time.

Just then Natalie and Tootie both leave and go upstairs while Jo and Blair both looked shocked.

Natalie and Tootie walk into their old room each taking a seat on their old beds. Both eyes are filled with tears.

T: Nat this fight between us has gone on long enough. Mrs. Garrett needs us now.

N: Well I wasn’t the one to start it but I do agree with you.

T: Hold on you did start it. You started it when you wrote all that stuff about drugs on the movie I was working on and saying that I was doing them.

N: Now you are the one that needs to hold on. I never said that you were doing drugs I said that the STAR was doing drugs you were just the co-star.

Tootie stood there thinking for a minute.

J: Excuse me but you should not be talking about caring about friends. You did have an affair with my husband.

B: I did not have an affair with Rick.

J: Oh so you just married him.

B: Well he wasn't your husband then so I don't call that an affair.

J: Well we were divorced cause you had and affair with him.

B: I did not have an affair with him.

J: Yeah sure like I really believe you. Blair I mean come on, you two stayed up all night for a week just talking and he writes you a love letter. We get a divorce and you then take him, which isn't really that big of a surprise! Also to make it ware you have a kid with him! That means that my daughter is kinda related to you and your daughter which is REAL bad.

B: Alright maybe I did stay up all night talking to him but that’s because you were gone and he wasn’t. B: Excuse me but I do work for what I need. I haven’t even spoken to my father in years, much less received any support from him. I also worked hard to get into Eastland and Langly. I may not have had to work for money but I did have to keep my grades up which living with you didn’t help me much because of all your stupid stunts and engine parts and that stupid bike of yours. And hat do you call what I did at Edna’s Edibles and Over Our Heads? I think I call that work. I work very hard right now at Eastland and trying to raise a daughter. I would like to see you run a school. I may not know what it’s like growing up like you but I guess the way that your grew up didn’t teach you values or manners. I’m not a spoiled brat. You are a prejudiced egotistical jerk.

J: I’m not prejudice I have lived with you and I know you, at least I thought I did. Mostly the thing that bothers me about you is that you had the life that I always wanted and to top it off you steal MY HUSBAND.
With that she walks out of the room and goes outside to wait for Chris and Jackie to return.
Tootie and Natalie start to come down the stairs as Blair pushes right past them very furious.

N: Oooooooo looks like Blair and Jo went at it.

T: Yeah and something tells me it wasn’t good.
Just then Jo walks past them and goes to the room Blair is in.

T: There’s going to be trouble.

N: Uh huh.

J: Listen Blair I don’t like you and I know you don’t like me but for Mrs. G’s sake we need to “act” like we are friends and getting along because I don’t want her to worry or anything.

B: Ok but there are some ground rules.

J: K, like no real talking.

B: Ok. We only talk when Mrs. Garrett or Beverly Ann are around. But do you think that we need to act like friends around Tootie and Natalie?

J: Yeah. Oh great how fun I get to be your friend.

Jo walks downstairs to where Tootie and Natalie are.

Tootie walks out and uses the phone then comes back and hands it to Jo.

T: Nat doesn’t need to use it since our husbands are together.

J: Ok.
Jo uses the phone then hangs up.
A couple of minutes later Jeff, Kristina, Karl, Eric, Cara, Cory, Chris, and Jackie come running in

N&J&T: Nothing

C: Then why did you page us using 911?!?!

J: Cause we wanted you to come here.

C: Good idea. It worked

Just then Matt and Laura Beth come in. Laura Beth and Matt are both holding a lot of shopping bags and you can tell that there is more in their car.

LB: Hello all, the wonderful, beautiful, special, and greatest person in the world is here, Laura Beth Warner.

J: Oh great another Blair.

Ja: What does she think she is a princess or something?

M: Hi I’m Matt Clemons, Blair’s husband and this is Blair’s daughter Laura Beth.

N: I’m Natalie and this is my family-my husband Eric and my children Cara and Cory.

T: I’m Tootie and this is my husband Jeff and our two children Kristina and Karl.

Jo doesn’t say a word.

C: I’m Chris and this is Jo and her daughter Jackie.

Jo still doesn’t say anything, just looks away. Jackie is giving Laura Beth evil looks.

Ba: Well hello Matt.

M: Hey.

B&J: Yeah. I’ve missed you too. (They then look at each other evilly thinking that the other one copied them or something).

MG: I’ve missed you girls more than anything.

N: I’m sorry I ever left.

MG: All that matters is that you’re here now. I have one question though, when are you going to introduce me to your families?

N: Oh sorry I forgot that I even had a family.

N: Sorry I was too caught up in the moment. Well Mrs. Garrett I would like for you to meet my son Cory, my husband Eric, and our daughter Cara.

Ja: Oh great I get to sleep next to Princess Laura Beth and all her makeup crap. (she says this very quietly and only Jo can hear. Jo nudges her but laughs to herself).

C: Mrs. Garrett seems really nice.

K: Yeah she does, so does Beverly Ann.

C: Maybe we can get them to tell us some stories about our mothers.

Laura Beth and Jackie stop fighting and look at their mothers.

J: You just know that she will lose!

B: Oh yeah right. Laura Beth could take on your daughter any day, just like I could fight you.

J: Yeah sure whatever Blair, You need to stop dreaming.

B: I’ve been waiting a very long time to beat the crap out of you.

J: You could never beat me up ok.

B: Come on Jo. You want to fight because right now I would fight you.

They both raise their hands like they are going to punch each other. Mrs. Garrett then walks in.

MG: So Beverly Ann talk you? Well yes it isn’t sure yet but the doctors do think that I am dying. But you shouldn’t act this way anyways.

B: Mrs. Garrett I’m going to miss you.

J: She’s not dying yet Blair and she may live. Good to know you are giving up, like always.

B: Jo shut up. I care about her ok. I’m not giving up. In fact Mrs. Garrett I’ll pay for you to have the best doctors and treatments in the world.

J: there you go again Blair trying to solve everything with money.

MG: Girls don’t fight for goodness sakes.

MG: You can’t. I mean I don’t think that the girls should have to all stay in one room so they can split up to two in a room and the other room will be taken up later tonight.

N: By whom?

MG: Andy. He will be coming later tonight.

B: Oh great. Natalie Tootie would one of you please switch rooms with me. Anything would be greater than having to room with Jo.

J: Yeah please one of you guys.

T: I wanna get to know my best friend a little more.

B: Whatever. Mrs. Garrett are you sure there is no where else for me to sleep tonight.

J: What are you gonna do? Knock me out with you brush or stab me with your nail file?

B: Jo I’m sick and tired of you bullying everyone around so whyt don’t you just stop acting like a brat and…(she gets interrupted)

MG: Girls please stop fighting.

J: Yeah well you’ll be hearing a lot of it if we have to sleep in the same room much less the same house.

MG: I better not girls. Now I need to talk with each of you privatly. Blair why don’t we chat first.

B: Ok.
Jo, Nat, and Tootie leave.

B: So what do you wanna talk about?

MG: Oh a couple of things. First off I don’t want you to get mad but I want to know the truth. Whatever you tell me I’ll believe. Did you have an affair with Rick?

B: Mrs. Garrett I can’t believe that you would even have to ask me that. But since you did no I did not have an affair with him. I would never have done that to Jo. She was my best friend. So was Natalie and Tootie but now everyone believes that I did and it hurts that people think that I’m that shallow.

MG: Blair I believe You. And I know it must hurt. Now for the second thing I wanna talk to you aboiut. I wanna know what you’ve been up to since you left.

B: Well I did something I’m not too proud of but I am kind of glad I did it.

MG: You married Rick.

B: Yes How did you know?

MG: Jo mentioned it in that argument you just had.

B: Oh yeah. And we had a daughter, Laura Beth.

MG: Oh yeah. Such a sweet girl.

B: Sometimes. Well anyway she doesn’t know that Rick is her father and that Jackie is her half sister.

MG: Do you plan on telling her?

B: Yeah someday. Just right now I don’t think it would be too good of an idea.

MG: Well what else has gone on?

B: Well shortly after Rick and I got married we got a dicorce. I found out after the divorce I was pregnant with Laura Beth. About two years after her birth I met and Married Matt. He would make my third husband. First to George, then Rick, then Matt. I don’t know how I have managed that in the last 15 years but hey like mother like daughter I guess. Well anyways I still own Eastland and I love every minute of it.

MG: Well tell me more about your daughter Laura Beth.

B: Well Laura Beth is a lot like me. She cares a lot about her looks, and has had a numerous amount of boyfriends. She does good in school. She is also very tough. If you do something she doesn’t like she will tell you off and sometimes she has gotten into fights over it.

MG: Well she sounds like a good child though.

B: Yeah pretty much.

MG: Well what about Matt?

B: Oh Matt is a good husband. Him and Laura Beth get along most of the time. He is a lawyer.

MG: Well your life seems like it’s been pretty good.

B: Yep. Real good. (she says this unsureingly). Well what about your life?

MG: Oh well Bruce died a few years ago of a heart attack.

B: Oh I’m sorry.

MG: Well Beverly Ann and I have been running the shop. And as you already know I am sick. The doctors don’t know whats wrong though.

B: Mrs. Garrett I’ve missed you so much.

MG: I’ve missed you too Blair.
They both hug and have tears in their eyes.

MG: Well I wanna talk to Tootie now.

B: Ok I’ll go get her.
Upstairs in Natalie’s and Tootie’s room.

B: Tootie Mrs. Garret wants to talk to you now.

T: Oh ok.
Tootie leaves

N: Um Blair.

B: What?

N: Do you think maybe we could talk?

B: Um sure. About what though?

N: About what has happened.

B: Oh ok.

MG: Well actually I wanted to ask you something. I want to know how you stand on the Blair thing.

T: Well I don’t know. I mean I don’t think that she would do something like that but she did stay up every night of the week with him and did marry him so I just don’t know.

MG: Well I would like to tell you how I stand on this subject. First off I don’t believe that she had an affair with Rick. I think that she just needed someone to talk with and Rick just happened to be here when she needed to talk with someone. I also think that staying up with him all night was innocent and that through this time Blair may have started to feel something for him but decided not to act on it due to her friendship with JO. I believe that marrying Rick was on some part a mistake. Most of the reason that she married probably was to get back at Jo for all of the stuff that had went on with her and that Blair was very vulnerable at this point due to her divorce and that she didn’t really love him, but maybe a little like.

T: Well all of those reasons do sound pretty good but I don’t think that Jo would listen to them.

MG: Well I’m going to try anyways. This has been going on long enough. Another thing I wanna talk about-how is your life?

T: Well Jeff and I have two children Kristina and Karl. They’re two very sweet children who talk way too much.

MG: Haha just like their mother.

T: And of course you should know that I am an actress.

MG: I know. I knew when you were young that you would be famous and here you are famous.

T: Jeff works as a college professor. He teaches English.

MG: Well it seems as though your life has been pretty good.

T: Yeah it is. I also plan on starring in a new show next month.

MG: Oh that sounds wonderful.

T: Yeah it is. Well how has your life been?

Mrs. Garret tells Tootie what she told Blair.

Upstairs-this was going on during Tootie’s and Mrs. Garret’s conversation.

N: Well I want to apologize for believing that you had an affair with Rick. I’ve thought it over and it just doesn’t sound like something you would do.

B: Natalie you don’t know how much it means to me that you believe me. Knowing that at least one of my friends believe me is wonderful. Thank you.

N: Well I’m sorry we’ve wasted all this time. I just need to know one thing…Why did you marry Rick?

B: Well during our time together I did have a little bit of an attraction to him and he obviously did for me too but I decided that Jo’s friendship meant more to me then him. Then after Jo and I had that fight about me having and affair with him I decided I wanted to make Jo mad so we started dating then one day he asked me to marry him and I said yes-mostly to tick Jo off even more.

N: Oh well I think that you and Jo should talk this over.

B: Nat it’s no use. I've tried and tried but she won’t listen. I want her to know the truth but I’ve told it to her about a million times but she doesn’t believe me. It’s just no use. I’ll be surprised if we make it one night together much less a whole week.

Downstairs

T: Well Mrs. Garrett I’m sorry about Bruce.

MG: Well I better talk to the other girls before it gets too late. Would you get Natalie for me?

T: Yeah sure.
Tootie leaves
Upstairs

T: Hey Nat Mrs. Garrett wants to speak with you now.

N: Oh ok.
Nat leaves

T: Blair

B: Yes

T: I just want to let you know that I believe you now.

B: Thanks Tootie. It means a lot.

T: I’m just sorry I didn’t believe you before.

B: It’s ok. Well I’m going to go check on Laura Beth.

T: Ok bye.

N: Hey Mrs. G what do ya wanna talk about?

MG: Oh well kinda about what has been goin’ on with Blair and everything.

N: Oh well Blair and I talked it out and I believe her.

MG: Oh well that’s good. Now I wanna talk about your life. What have you been up to?

N: Well I’ve become a writer. I used to write for a newspaper but decided to switch to books. I did marry Snake and we had a son Corey. He is now 15. Snake and I did get a divorce due to the fact that he was cheating on me.

MG: Oh I’m sorry.

N: Well a couple of months later I met Eric. WE got married and he adopted Corey. We have a daughter, Cara. She is 13. Eric writes children’s books. He works at home to be with the children.

MG: Well your life sounds very complete.

N: Yeah I guess it is. (She says this unsurley) What about your life Mrs. Garrett?

Mrs. Garrett has the same conversation with her as she did with Blair and Tootie.

MG: Well why don’t I talk to Jo then we’ll go out for dinner.

N: Ok I’ll get her.

She walks upstairs and gets Jo.
A couple of minutes later Jo comes downstairs.

J: What do ya want Mrs. G?

MG: wanna talk about how your life has been.

J: Oh well after Blair ran off with my husband I found out that I was pregnant. I gave birth go Jackie, who is now 13. I became a teacher. I teach 8th grade science. I really enjoy that. Um a couple of years ago a met and married Chris. He is an auto mechanic. And that’s about it.

MG: Well your life sounds like it’s been going good.

J: Yeah I guess but it would have been better if Blair hadn’t stolen my husband, but hey I can’t help it if she is a sl…

MG: JO!

J: What? (She says this innocently)

MG: Jo I need to talk to you about Blair. Why don’t you believe her?

J: Gosh here you go, taking her side. This is between me and her so don’t get in the middle ok.

MG: Well after it’s been going on for about 14 yeas and no one has tried to solve it I think someone should get in the middle of it so just answer my questions ok.

J: Ok fine whatever. Well lets see, what makes me think that she had an affair with Rick. He wrote her a letter saying how much fun they had over the past week every night. In that note it also included that fact that he wanted to leave me and get together with her. Then when we get a divorce he marries her and they have a kid. I think that is enough.

MG: Isn’t it possible that they were just talking and that he had feelings for her and this was the first time he ever expressed them?

J: Not with Blair Mrs. G. You know her, she dated all these guys and don’t you remember when she went out with Nancy’s boyfriend Roger? How could I trust her after that?

MG: Jo I know how close you two were and I know that she would never try to ruin your friendship.

J: Well she did.

MG: Let me finish. Also I think that a husband is way more serious then a boyfriend and Blair knows that. I believe that Blair married Rick partly out of some kind of affection, but mostly out of spite because of your fight.

J: Mrs. Garret you just don’t understand do you?
Jo leaves the room.

MG: I don’t know what I’m going to do with those two for a week.

Two days later. Blair and Jo are still fighting/not speaking to each other, so are their kids. Nat and Tootie and their kids are getting along. Mrs. Garret is very ill and can’t get out of bed.

BA: (she walks into Mrs. Garret’s room) Hey Edna how are you today?

MG: Not too good actually. I need to get Blair and Jo friends before it is too late.

Mrs. Garret’s room, Jo walks in.

J: Hey Mrs. G how ya feelin’?

MG: I’m feeling a little better.
Blair walks in.
B: (she notices Jo standing there) Oh I’ll come back later.

MG: No come on in.

B: Well ok. I just wanted to see how you were today.

MG: Well I’m feeling a little better.

B: That’s good.

MG: Jo, Blair. I really wish that you would talk this problem out.

J: Mrs. G please don’t do this, not while you’re in your condition.

B: I have to agree with Jo Mrs. Garrett, just let us handle it ok.

Beverly Ann walks in.

BA: Edna do you want some lunch?

MG: No, I’m not hungry.

BA: Ok.

MG: (starts coughing really badly and blood starts coming out)

J: Beverly Ann call 911. Blair get some water.

Ba&B: Ok

A few minutes later an ambulance arrives. The girls stand aside as the paramedics put Mrs. Garrett onto a stretcher and was put into the ambulance and taken to the hospital. The girls arrive at the hospital a few minutes later, they leave their children at home.

J: Gosh what is taking the doctor so long? It doesn’t take this long does it?

BA: Come on Jo, calm down. She’ll be fine.

T: yeah she can’t die you know, we need her she won’t die.

J: But she could be dying, I mean that is usually why they take this long.

T: Jo don’t talk like that. She’ll make it, she has to.

B: Tootie things don’t always go the way they should ok. She could die or live who knows.
Doctor comes out.
Dr: Edna Garrett?

Everyone: Yes

Dr: Well we don’t know if she’ll make it. Why don’t you go home and come back tomorrow?

BA: Ok. Thank you doctor. Come on girls lets go.
2:00 am, Blair I downstairs by herself. Then Jo comes downstairs.

J: What are you doing down here?

B: nothing what are you doing?

J: I couldn’t sleep, but what do you care?

B: Listen JO we need to talk. I know you don’t want to but Mrs. Garrett needs to at least know we tried ok.

J: Ok. But we need to be quiet so no yelling. Agreed?

B: Agreed. And no name calling.

J: Ok.

B: I know I’ve told you this before and you didn’t believe me and you may not believe me this time but I have to let you know one more time, I never had an affair with Rick. I know it’s hard to believe since I did marry him but that was a mistake and I’m sorry for it. It was wrong of me. But I just want you to know I didn’t have an affair with him. Everynight that we were together was completely innocent.
The room is quiet for a few minutes.

J: Give me more reasons to believe you.

B: Well you were my best friend and I would have never done that to you. I really cared about you. If I did have an affair with him I would be on my knees begging you to forgive me and wouldn’t be putting up such a fight for you to believe me. My life has been totally different without you in it. I miss you.
The room is quiet again. By this time tear are streaming down Blair’s face. JO starts to get teary eyed.

J: Blair I’m sorry I didn’t believe you. I do now I just didn’t want to think that Rick would do something like that. It just hurt too much. I’m so sorry. I should never have believed him, because he said that stuff did happen. I should have known better.
Blair and Jo are crying and hugging each other.

B: I’m sorry too Jo. I can’t believe he would tell you something like that. I would have never married him if I had known he told you that. I’m sorry.

J: Well we’ve barely spoken to each other in about 15 years so lets get caught up on each other’s lives ok.

B: Ok you go first.
Blair and Jo both talk about their lives.
Upstairs in Natalie and Tootie’s room. Tootie walks in and Nat is still asleep.

T: Natalie wake up. Come on wake up.

N: what is it Tootie? Gosh I was trying to sleep.

T: You’ll never believe what I just witnessed.

N: What, a murder, a robbery, what did you see just tell me?

T: Ok well I was walking downstairs to get some water and I noticed that Blair and Jo were downstairs together on the couch.

N: Oh my gosh Jo killed Blair.

T: No.

N: Blair killed Jo? Oh my gosh I thought that Jo could easily take Blair.

T: No.

N: Tootie you didn’t kill both of them did you?

T: NO, Now let me finish ok.

N: OK but hurry up.

T: Well they were talking but I couldn’t hear what they were saying but they started to hug and cry and saying that they were sorry.

N: Are you sure you weren’t just dreaming.

B: Well it’s just that…Mrs. Garrett is so sick and she’ll probably die and I don’t want to lose her Jo. She was just like a mother to me, more so than my own mother was, and if she dies I don’t know what I’ll do.

J: Blair I know how you feel. I don’t want her to die either. Especially since we just got to be together after 15 years. I don’t know what I’ll do if she dies. But I know Mrs. G and she is strong so I don’t know if she’ll die or not. I sure hope not though.
Natalie and Tootie stare downstairs in disbelief. Then they go back to their room.

N: Oh my goodness Tootie you were right.

T: I know, I know.


N: Oh no Tootie, we’re in so much trouble now.

T: Oh yeah.
The next morning. Everyone just woke up. Jo and Blair walk downstairs. Natalie, Tootie, and Beverly Ann are already downstairs.

BA: Good morning.

B: It would be better if it was longer.

J: I know I’m so tired.

B: Well when are we going to go see Mrs. Garrett?

BA: I guess after we eat breakfast.

J: Well then I’ll go fix something.

B: I’ll help you.

J: Ok. Oh yeah Blair we might wanna tell them.

B: Oh yeah. Jo and I are friends again.

BA: Really, I’m so proud of you two. I knew you could work it out. Edna will be so happy.

N: Yeah it’s great that you to are friends again.

T: Yeah just great. (They both say this unenthusiastically)

Just then someone knocks on the door.

J: I’ll get it.

N & T: (In a whisper) Oh no.

Jo answers the door.

Man at the door (he can’t be seen yet, only Jo and Blair can see him): Hi Jo, Blair.

J & B: WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE?

N&T: (Try to sneak off)
The man walks inside and it is seen that he is Rick

BA: Rick!

R: Well Natalie called me up and told me that I should come because Mrs. Garrett is sick and she wants to see me.

B&J: NATALIE!!!!

N: Tootie helped.

J: You both are VERY DEAD.

BA: Rick why don’t you come with me in the kitchen and I’ll tell you what has happened with Edna.
They go to the kitchen.

J: WHAT IN THE WORLD DO YOU TWO THINK YOU WERE DOING?!?!?!

B: I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU INVITED OUR EX-HUSBAND HERE.

J: HOW STUPID CAN YOU GET?

B: WHAT ABOUT OUR DAUGHTERS? DID YOU THINK OF THAT? THEY DON’T KNOW THEY’RE RELATED. AND LAURA BETH DESPISED RICK.

J: SO DOES JACKIE. GOSH THIS IS WORSE THAN WHEN YOU SET US UP ON COMPUTER DATES.

N: Well we figured that maybe if you two talked things out with Rick he would explain what really happened and then you would be friends again.

T: Yeah what she said.

J: WELL RICK TOLD ME A LIE TO BEGIN WITH.

B: YEAH HE’S THE ONE WHO STARTED THIS.
Blair and Jo both get a sneaky look on their faces.

J: Blair are you thinking what I’m thinking?

B: If it is murder than yes.

J: Oh yeah. And he’s in the kitchen with knives.
Just then Rick and Beverly Ann walk in

J: Shoot.

B: We still have electrical appliances.

R: Ok I’m lost but I just wanted to tell you that I had no idea that you were going to be here so I’ll leave.

J: No Rick stick around.

B: Yeah we need to talk to you.
The children walk upstairs.

LB&JA: Mom what is HE doing here?

JA: Hey how do you know my dad?

LB: What do you mean your dad? He is my dad.

JA: Mother PLEASE tell me that we are not related.

J: Well the reason Blair and I were in a fight for so long was because of him and yes you two are related.

Ca: Oh my gosh those two are related.

K: Oh my gosh that is just too funny. (They both laugh)
JA: Shut up before I hit you.
They get quiet.

B: We’re sorry we never told you.

LB: I’m a Warner, and I’m related to HER. (She whimpers)

B: Yeah I know. You've only seen Laura Beth once and that was when she was 6. She is 13 now. What were you doing during those 7 years you didn't see her huh?

R: Listen I'm sorry I haven't been there for them ok.

J: Don't apologize to us, apologize to them ok.

J: Now about this little "affair" that you had with Blair…

In the middle of what Rick is saying Matt and Chris walk into the room.

C: We're back and who the heck are you?

J: Chris, what are you doing here. It hasn't been a week yet.

C: Beverly Ann called us and told us to come back because Mrs. Garrett was really sick.

M: Eric and Jeff are coming later.

C: Now who the HECK is this man and why is he yelling at you?

J: This is RICK, you remember me telling you about him.

B: And he is yelling at us for…what reason where you yelling at us Rick?

R: Umm…Who are you two first?

M: I'm Blair's CURRENT husband.

C: Hold on YOUR Rick? As in MY wife's ex husband?

R: Umm…depends on who your wife is.

J: That would be me.

R: Then yeah I guess I am Jo's ex-husband, and Blair's.

C: Ok now I want to know what in the world is going on here.

B: Well Jo and I became friends again and Natalie and Tootie decided to call up Rick and bring him over here.

J: And now we are about to kill Rick for purposely breaking up our friendship in the first place.

M: Now how did he do that?

J: He just happened to tell me that he had an affair with Blair.

B: When he DIDN'T.

C: Now that is just one sick guy.

M: What kind of man are you. Of course you aren't a man if you do that.

B: Trust me he isn't a man.

J: Yeah I know.

R: I can't help it if I'm so easy to love, what can I say, some guys have it and some don't.

J: Believe me you DON'T have it.

B: Definitely don't have it.

R: Well if that is true then how come both of you married me and had my children.

B: Temporarily insanity.
(They all start yelling at Rick and Rick yells back)
All the girls walk in.

Ja&LB: DAD!.
Matt, Chris, and Rick turn around thinking that they are talking to them. Laura Beth runs
Up and hugs Matt while Jackie does the same to Chris.

R: Why are you girls calling those two dad, you're my children.

JA: Well lets see…I've seen you once in my life and that was 7 years ago.

LB: Occasionally you send a card, sometime a phone call but that isn't a dad…

JA: That's a sperm donor.
Blair and Jo shoot Jackie a shocked look, while Laura Beth nods her head.

LB: It's true, I learned about it in family life.

BA: Children I think we better leave.

R: No, I'll leave.
He goes to the door then looks back with tears in his eyes.
R: Goodbye. I love all four of you.
He leaves.
C: Thank goodness he is gone.

N: Now what are you guys doing here and how come Eric and Jeff aren't here?

M: Beverly Ann called us yesterday and said that Mrs. Garrett was very sick and we should come down here.

C: And Eric and Jeff are coming later.

T: Oh ok.

B: Now Laura Beth and Jackie, Jo and I need to speak with you. Go upstairs in our room ok.

JA: Yeah, You've got a lot of explaining to do.

LB: Yeah.
They go upstairs.

J: Chris, Matt we need to speak with them in private.

M&C: Ok.
Jo and Blair walk upstairs.

Blair and Jo tell Jackie and Laura Beth the story of what happened.

JA: I still think you should have told me before this.

J: Well sorry I just didn't think you should know at this time.

B: Yeah especially since we were still fighting and we didn't want you two to be at each other's throats too I guess.

JA: Well we still fought even when we didn't know about the fight and we still will fight.

J: Yeah well Blair and I fought constantly.

B: Laura Beth you haven't said much.

LB: I'm still in shock. I can't believe that MY mother would do that to her best friend.

B: I didn't do anything.

LB: You married her ex-husband.

B: Well we've already told you why and it was a mistake but I got you out of it.

LB: I just want to know how could you marry such a scum?

B: I don't know, I was angry and upset and I just let it get the better of me.

LB: So you conceived me out of anger?

B: Listen, I liked Rick but didn't love him. You are the best thing that ever happened to me.

LB: I'm the best thing that ever happened to the world.
They all laugh except for Laura Beth.

LB: what? I’m serious.

J: Like mother like daughter.
They all go downstairs with everyone else down there.

BA: Are you all finished?

B: Yep.

N: Well then we can go visit Mrs. Garrett.

T: Ok lets go.
They all leave.
At the hospital-Natalie, Tootie, and their families arrive before the others.

N: Nurse we’re here to see Edna Garrett.

Nurse: Um let me get you a doctor.

N: OK
A few minutes later a doctor comes out.

T: So when can we see Mrs. Garrett?

DR: I’m sorry but Mrs. Garrett feel into a slight coma last night.
He walks away. Nat and Tootie are crying.

N: Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it.
Just then the others come in.
BA: Natalie, Tootie what’s wrong?

T: Mrs. Garret’s in a coma.

J: What? This can’t be.
Dr. comes back

Dr.: You can all go see Mrs. Garrett but two at a time only ok.
He walks away.
BA: Natalie, Tootie you two go first ok.
Natalie and Tootie go into Mrs. Garret’s room

N: Hey Mrs. Garrett. I hope you wake up soon.

T: Yeah. We really need you so don’t die ok.

N: Well the others want to see you so we should go now. Bye

T: Bye. Get well soon cause we really need you.
They walk out.

J: Beverly Ann you go ahead.
She walks into the room.

BA: Edna I’m not going to stay long but I need to tell you not to die. I need you, the girls need you. Please don’t leave me. Bye.
She walks out and Blair and Jo walk in.

J: Hey Mrs. G

B: Guess what…(she stops talking)

J: Blair I don’t think she’ll answer.

B: I know I was just praying she would.

J: Oh sorry.

B: Well Mrs. Garrett, You were right once again. Jo and I are friends again.

J: Yeah we worked everything out. You’re always right.

B: Well we’ll tell you more about it later when you wake up. You’ll love the story so wake up soon ok.

J: Bye Mrs. Garrett. You’re like a mother to all of us so get well soon.

B: Bye. Love you.
As they walk out the heart monitor starts acting funny. The Dr. and nurses rush in.

Nurse: You’ll have to leave now.

J: Mrs. Garret I love you.
They are then pushed out.
N: Blair, Jo what happened?

B: I...I don’t know.

J: As we were walking out the heart monitor started going crazy.
A Dr. then comes over to them.

Dr.: I’m afraid that Mrs. Garrett has fallen into a deep coma and will most likely not wake up. I’m sorry.

B: You’re sorry, you aren’t losing a mother here she is just another patient for you isn’t she? You don’t know anything about her. You didn’t even get to meet her did you? I grew up with her you didn’t and you are sorry. You have to do more. You can’t let her die. (She starts sobbing)

J: Blair calm down.

BA: Doctor I’m sorry she is just upset.

Dr: It’s ok.
He leaves.

B: He’s going to let her die.

J: Blair it’ll be ok.

B: It will be ok? Mrs. Garret it about to die and you say that it will be ok? I don’t think so.
Blair is frantic by now.

J: Blair come here.
Jo hugs Blair and they sit down while Jo comforts Blair.

Everyone is crying and Tootie is in a corner by herself.

B: I know what I’ll do. I’ll call and get the best doctors in the world to come and help Mrs. Garrett.

J: Blair just let her go ok.

B: No I can’t and I won’t.
During all of this the husbands and children try and comfort the others and are quiet.

N: Oh my gosh we forgot about Jeff and Eric.

C: I’ll go back to the house and tell them when they get there what happened.

M: I’ll go too.

BA: why don’t you take the children too?

M: Ok.
They leave.
B: Well I’m going to go make some phone calls.
She goes to a phone. The doctor them comes over to them.

Dr: Well what I said before still stands, but you can go visit her in ICU now.

BA: Ok.
Through the next few hours they visit regularly. Blair keeps making phone calls.

B: Ok guys I’ve got 3 extremely qualified and skillful doctors on their way over here.

J: Blair don’t do this.

B: Listen Jo I have to know that I at least tried.

BA: I understand Blair.
A few hours later the Drs. arrive. Two of them examine Mrs. Garret but they couldn’t find anything. The third one just got finished examining her. She walks over to them.

Dr: Well after a lot of examining I have found out what is wrong with her.

T: What is it?

Dr: She has an extremely rare and very few doctors know about it. It is called DTMT.

N: Is she going to be alright?

Dr: Well there is a cure. This disease puts people in a coma like Mrs. Garrett is in now. The medicine will both wake them up and hopefully cure them. We need the next of kin to sign some papers though.

BA: I will do it.

Beverly Ann fills out the forms.
1 hour later the doctor comes out.

Dr: Well she is up and we think she is cured, it will take a few hours though to find out.

B: Thank you so much doctor.
She leaves.

BA: Blair thank you for doing this.

B: Yeah well I wasn’t going to give up.

J: Well Blair I usually hate how you always try to use your money for things but this time I’m glad you did.

N: Yeah Blair.

T: Well now all we have to do it wait.

B: Gosh I’m tired of waiting.

J: Well that’s what we have to do.
They wait for a couple of hours then the doctor comes back out.

Dr: Well we’ve examined her and we don’t see any trace of this illness. She will still have to take a pill everyday and come back regularly for exams.

BA: Ok. Thank you so much.

Dr: You’re welcome. You can all go see her now.
They all walk into Mrs. Garret’s room.

MG: Girls!!!

T: Hey Mrs. Garrett.

BA: Edna you’ve missed a lot.

MG: Well then fill me in.

J: Well Blair and I are friends again.

MG: Really? I knew you could work it out.

N: Yeah well, they both almost killed Tootie and me and I’m surprised they didn’t kill Rick.

MG: Rick was here? When? Why?

T: Well it’s a long story.

MG: Well I’ve got time to listen.
They all tell Mrs. Garrett what has gone on.
Two weeks later, Mrs. Garrett was just released from the hospital.

MG: Gosh it’s so great to be home.

T: It sure is.

J: well Mrs. G I’ve got some good news.

N&T: Me too.

J: You two go first.

T: Well you remember the show I told you I was doing? Well it’s going to be shot right near Peekskill so I’ m moving back.

N: And I have decided to move back too.

MG: Oh this is wonderful.

J: Now for my news. I am moving back to take a teaching job at Eastland.

B: And that is good news?

J: Hey you offered me the job.

B: I know I just couldn’t resist saying that.

MG: Oh all of my girls are back.

B: Yeah and all of the children can go to Eastland.

Karl: If there are girls there I’m going.

Corey: Same here.

LB: So now I get to live closer to Jackie.

JA: Oh what fun. (Sarcastically)


MG: This is just too wonderful.
