Terrence Howard credits watching his father stab a man to death in self-defense when he was three years old with making him the actor he is today.

Following the incident, the star's father was sentenced to 11 months in prison on manslaughter charges and the young Howard was plunged into a life of poverty.

He says, "I'm not scarred by it, but I would not be the actor I am without it. I was a child in a middle-class family, then I was suddenly living in the projects."

Terrence grew up in my hometown Cleveland, Ohio. He lived in a bad neighborhood and i forgot what area he grew up in. He said he had to bring a knife to school when he was a kid because older guys tried to rape him one time. I felt bad for him when i read that.
