Laurie Metcalf Also Joining "The Big Bang Theory" cast

Zap2it.com is reporting that Laurie Metcalf, who played Roseanne's sister, Jackie on Roseanne has signed on as a recurring role on The Big Bang Theory playing Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) mother. She will join Johnny Galecki and Sara Gilbert all formerly of Roseanne.

I guess Chuck Lorre is going for a real Roseanne Reunion. :)

This is now officially confirmed. I know someone who was at the taping of the 4th episode on September 12, and Laurie Metcalf played Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) mother. This show could be a huge reunion show for Roseanne stars. I have seen the pilot and it is very, very funny. I think people are going to love this show.

And by the way, the reason so many Roseanne cast members are joining this show is because Chuck Lorre is the producer of The Big Bang Theory and he also produced Roseanne.

No, but someone who saw the taping said she was very funny as Leonard's mother. Someone else who saw the taping of this show said, "I laughed so hard my sides hurt". That was posted on a blog. The second, third and fourth episodes are supposed be even better than the pilot.

I think this show could be a hit in the Two and Half Men mold if people just give it a chance by watching the first few episodes. I think this is the type of show that will leave people wanting more.

I'm almost certain Chuck Lorre was one of the writers Roseanne fired ... I doubt we'll be seeing her, or Cybill ... :D

I think it was mentioned that he might write an episode of CSI where a famous actress diva is killed, they said its because of Roseanne and Cybill.

This is awesome news - Jackie was my fav character on Roseanne. I just love Laurie's expressions- she's a riot...
