Director Quentin Tarantino has apologized to Hollywood bosses for his failed movie Grindhouse. The 44-year-old movie maker is proud of the double-bill - he directed Death Proof and Robert Rodriguez made Planet Terror - but Tarantino feels sorry for producers the Weinstein Brothers, who lost money on it.

He tells Empire magazine, "I called Harvey and Bob and apologized. Not for the movie, because we were all very proud of it, but I apologized that they had spent so much on the movie and that I didn't return their investment."

Apologize for what?? Grindhouse was a great movie, for really cool stuff it had in it!! I think people don't get the movie for what it was, a salute to the slasher B-movie flicks of the 70's and early 80's. We need more creepy, cheese-a-riffic stuff like that, they don't make stuff like that anymore!!

But then, I haven't seen Rob Zombie's Halloween yet....

I think making movies is a crap shoot, you never know what the public will like.
