I'll try to give a brief summary , while trying not to put in TOO many spoilers.....Characters: front left to right Lacey Burrows and Brent Leroy -in car, Brent's parents Oscar and Emma Leroy- behind car, Officers Davis Quinton and Karen Pelly , gas station employee Wanda Dollard and town idiot Hank Yarbo

Brent Leroy ( Brent Butt< yes, that's his real name ) is the owner of the only gas station (and grocery store) within 60 klms ( approx 40 miles ), he's probably the only really stable person in a town of eccentrics.....He's highly attracted to Lacey, the woman who owns the Diner attached to his gas station ( They share the washrooms and storerooms), but, due to his fear of commitment, he denies it.

Lacey Burrows (Gabrielle Miller) is the "new girl in town", as she moved to Dog River from the big city of Toronto. Strangely, despite being from the largest city in Canada, Lacey often seems to be the most innocent person in town. She's often too trusting and a terrible liar! (Lucy Ricardo she aint!) Spoiler>>She runs the diner that she inherited from her childless aunt and, while she would never admit it, is falling in love with Brent!

Oscar Leroy (Eric Peterson) is Brent's Father and former owner of the station...who sometimes forgets that he retired from the business. Oscar is one of those cranky old men who'll call the cops at the drop of a hat, so, don't walk in his grass!

Emma Leroy (Janet Wright) is Brent's Mother, and the REAL head of the family, everyone holds her in respectful awe

Officer Davis Quinton (Lorne Cardinal) is the town's veteran officer, he refuses to read training manuals and uses the Police budget to his own ends. Basically, he makes up the laws, as he goes along (Saves him the trouble of actually having to learn them), while he's a very sensitive man, he can also show petty jealousy towards his junior partner Karen, still calling her "rookie" after at least 4 years as his partner. Davis is divorced.

Officer Karen Pelly (Tara-Spencer-Nairn) is young and ambitious, and wishes she was anywhere besides Dog River, where she feels her career in law enforcement is probably hitting a dead end.

Wanda Dollard ( Nancy Robertson (Butt*) ) is Brent's assistant at the gas station, she runs the grocery store while he mans the pumps. Single Mom Wanda, is the smartest person in town, and yet works a rather menial job, in order to support her son Tanner ( Who is never actually shown, a la Vera )
* Nancy Robertson and Brent Butt were married during hiatus between season 2 and 3

Hank Yarbo (Fred Ewanuick) is the town idiot-savant ( and a first-class mooch ), at times, he seems to be a complete fool and yet, he shows amazing skills at such things as gardening and playing the stock market....making him rather hard to "pin down!"

And that is the main cast of Corner Gas :)

Nope its not just you, I was thinking exactly the same thing..Brent looks like me, only about 6 inches taller ( and with straighter hair ) and , Lacey does indeed resemble you...not as busty, but yeah, i saw a resemblance right away. ( And was thinking that very thing just before you made that post! spoooooooky :eek: )

I just thought of something....Gabrielle Miller was on an episode of Frasier, she played one of the few women during the course of the show, that had NO interest in him! :lol:

Youve met the main Characters of the show, now let's meet some of the reoccuring guest star characters:

Wes Humboldt (Mike O'Brien) is both the town's insurance agent AND liquor store owner ( Sounds like a conflict of interest, to me! :lol: ) , he's also a very quiet shy person, and because of it, often a victim of Brent's humourous jabs. Wes doesnt seem to have any kind of family, or relationship, other than his store. ( In season 4 Wes makes only one appearance as he is no longer a resident of Rouleau, where the show is filmed )

Mayor "Fitzy" Fitzgerald (Cavan Cunningham) is the town's #1 citizen and, while no one ever runs against him, is almost pathologically paranoid that others are trying to take his job (it's all he's got!). He's pretty much a do-nothing, but, when he does make a decision, the entire town tends to go against him!

Mrs. Jensen (Jean Freeman) is the Mayor's Grandmother (presumably on his Mother's side), she lives with her husband on a farm near the baseball park, and is a female version of Oscar: cranky and bossy. Not surprisingly, she and Oscar don't get along...in one episode, he calls her an "Old Wingnut". Mayor "Fitzy" seems slightly afraid of her.

Paul Kinistino (Mark Dieter) is the local tavern owner, he's Native, and speaks a little Cree, but, is apparently from another Native nation. He tends to put his schemes to make money for the bar ahead of the good of his customers.

Mertyl Runciman (Gwen Seed) is the town's loopiest old woman ( Also known as "Morphine Mertyl" ) , she frequently gets new hips, cause she's addicted to the pain killers! :eek:

Interestingly enough, these aren't professional actors, they are regular citizens of the Sask town of Rouleau, the real town ( that doubles as the fictional Dog River ),where the show is filmed.

My Dad's been Oscar for years.....I think Brent Butt must have been secretly observing my family* for years, and created Oscar off of him! :lol: ( *Oscar looks scarilly like my late Grandfather, but acts exactly like my Dad! )
