This is my first time being the first poster on a new board, lol.
It's not often that I actually laugh out loud when watching a show, but FOTC is just so darned funny. It's as if these two guys are in their own little world of insanity. Well, their agent Murray, and their one fan Mel too.
Thanks for the board TJ. :)

 It's hard to explain. I can understand if someone didn't like the show. It's definitely not for everyone. It's sort of parody humor. You know, where everyone acts goofy, but they all think it's normal. If you're a fan of Christopher Guest's movies....This Is Spinal Tap, Best In Show, A Mighty Wind...then you'll like FOTC.
Jermaine and Bret (the two goofballs in my avatar) are an actually folk duo from New Zealand. "Formerly New Zealand's fourth most popular folk-parody duo", as they like to say, lol.
They're in New York, trying to make it as a band. Their band manager, Murray, is complete nitwit, and they have one obsessed fan....a married woman named Mel.
The lyrics to their songs are hilarious. There's a lot of daydream and fantasy sequences too, just silly, but I laugh like crazy. They've gotten very cute as I've grown the love the show, especially Jemaine.

I'm going to start watching this show. We need to chat more about about TV shows!
It is a very funny show. I haven't seen any episodes besides the pilot, but I like it. i'll have to sit down and catch the rest on HBO On Demand.
Good stuff. Catch it if you can.

It's funny you said this Tom because I've been meaning to send you an e:mail about this show. I remember that you're a fan of Christopher Guest's movies, and if I didn't know any better, I'd think he was writing these scripts.

The more the merrier! I just finished watching it, and I'm still feeling silly. In tonight's episode, Bret and Jemaine bought black leather suits to look like rock stars, for their gig at an airport lobby. They wear them in the rain and spend the rest of the show in their suits, only now the sleeves are at the elbows and the pants almost to the knees. The suits are so snug, but Jemaine casually informs their band manager that he can't get his suit off, so he just leaves it on. It doesn't even phase them, and that's what makes the show so funny.

It's on HBO, Sunday at 10:30 pm. It's a comedy about two guys trying to make it in the music business in New York. They're from New Zealand.
