I don't think anger management classes were around in the 1970s, or if they were, weren't as well-known as they are today. :lol: James, to me, may have been a yeller, but he was only angry at the system and the low wages he brought in doing menial jobs. He never hit his family - in fact, he adored his wife and kids and only wanted the best for them. James - and his portrayer, John Amos - ROCKS.

I have to agree. James' bark was bigger than his bite. :lol: He was just a big old teddy bear when it came to his family.

well he never scared me since i didn't discover the show until I was in highschool-lol

I discovered Good Times in my freshman year of highschool which was 89. Before that, I never saw the show in syndication and was too young to remember it on CBSlike I did the Jeffersons. I watched the Jeffersons on CBS in 82 at 7 but didn't discover GT and Maude until 14 years old

Aside from the checkup episode when he smashed the chair, I don't see him as a Angry man
