The day after our cat Foxy passed away, I was really hurting, and I had to have another cat. I found a very nice woman, Linda, on the web. She breeds Persians. I sent her an e:mail asking her if she had any available. She told me that she didn't at the time, so we went to a pet store and bought Lily, that day.

About a month later, Linda sent me an e:mail asking if I was still looking for a Persian. Someone who was on the list for a Persian became ill, so she had one available. That's how Caesar came to be ours. I joke and call him our e:mail kitty. I baby talk and tell him that he came through the computer, lol.

Here's Linda's website. I send her pictures of Caesar, and she just loves it. I call her Auntie Linda, for Caesar.

My dog came from a breeder. My cat I found in my backyard. There was this mother cat that kept hanging out around the house. I figured it was someone elses cat so left it alone. I went in my backyard one day to find her and 4 kittens(one dead). So I took the mother and the kittens in the house for a few weeks until they were old enough to give away. The mother cat mustve been a housecat that someone didn't want because she was pregnant, she was a total indoor cat. I ended up keeping one of the kittens. I wanted to keep the mother but she didn't get along with my dog.

Well I only have had a couple of fish for pets. No one ever around the house would have time to take care of a pet like a dog. But when I was still a todler we had some assorted fish, when I was in 3rd grade we got a fighting fish from this booth at the mall. The last time I had a pet fish was in the 7th grade it was another fighting fish we got it at petco it wasne't expensive just a few cents or dollars.

I got my dog Buddy from the Humane Society. We got him when he wa barely 8 weeks old. He is the best dog we have ever had. We call him my sons "brother" and I am mommy to him and my husband is "daddy".

Once we get more settled we are going to go to the shelter up here and look for another dog for him.

in 1996 some lady in my town was giving away free kittens, i'm guessing my mom heard about it through an ad or something. she took me with her to pick one out. there were two runts, a boy and a girl, and they were the tiniest kittens i'd ever seen. i thought they were so cute....i picked the girl. we still have her.

the first 2 dogs were free puppies from my parent's friends and the last one , came into my life when a boy who was an aquaintance was riding his bike with her in his jacket....I stopped him and said that could be dangerous if he fell, his next words were "You want her? She's the runt of the litter and no one wants her!" I said that I would take her in a sec, but that my Dad didnt want anymore dogs....at that moment, my parents car went by, I waved them over......Dad once again said he didnt want a dog, but, Mom was on my side, so, I did the smart thing, and put this adorable puppy in Dads lap...we had her for 16 wonderful years! :)

Awwwww, what a beautiful story:)
:) Of the 3 dogs we had, she was by far my favorite.....maybe because of the strange way she came into our lives

My oldest cat, Rowdy, was given to me by my Brother

My Cocker-Spaniel, Lady, was given to me by a woman my Mother works with who could no longer care for her.

My next cat, Gypsy, Adopted me. I went to check the mail one evening and she was sitting at the box. I expected her to run as I got closer but she didn't. She just followed me back to the house and never left.

The kittens, Gidget, Ginger, Gizmo and Graycie were a thank-you gift from Gypsy.

My family and I adopted Gracie, our cat, from the humane society in 2001. I think the humane society is the best place to get a pet, especially since you're rescueing them. Well, very rarely though will you find a purebred dog at a humane society. If you want a purebred- getting one through a breeder is the best thing.

I have a male pug named Duke. My boyfriend bought him for me from a breeder. He knew how much I have always wanted a pug but didn't want to spend that kind of money for a purebred pug.

Lo and behold, one day my boyfriend bought me a 4 month old pug. I was so ecstatic. I was shocked that my boyfriend had paid $1000 for him, but he said it was worth it to see how happy I was when I got him. The dog is 4 years old. We got him when our son was 1 years old. So, really my son and the dog have grown up together.

I have an aquarium of tropical fish. I am the only one who takes care of them. My aquarium gets lots of attention from company, but my kids are oblivious to it. I got my fish from the local pet shop. I think I have spent over $2000 on fish, tank, food, accessories, etc.

Our late cat Taz, she was from a litter of kittens. The mother cat hung around our house and we made her a nice place inside to rest and give birth. We fell in love with the one gray tuxedo kitten with the white spot on her forehead. She was adorable and the perfect cat. Til she got run over and I had to put her to sleep. If I could have a cat just like Taz again, I would. She slept with my son in his crib when he was around 3 months old. She always laid next to him to sleep when he was on my bed. She seemed to guard him. That was so nice.
