Natalie's Life Lesson (6th)

Nat: (walks in) Guess what Tootie!! She'll never guess!! (says to mrs. garrett and the rest of girls)
Tootie: What? What? Tell me!!
Nat: Ok... Duke Paterson asked me out tonight!! (jumps up and down)
Tootie: (jumps up and down with Nat) Are you serious he is such a hunk!!
Nat: I know... I know!! He is isnt he!?! (laughs and starts walking out)
Tootie: (starts walking out with Nat) What are you going to wear?
Nat: I dont know... help me find something!
Tootie and Nat: (out of room completely)
Blair: Isn't Duke the one who got busted for pot last year?
Jo: Yea, I heard that rumor too!!
Mrs. G: Pot? As in marijuana?
Jo: Mrs. G are you going let her go out with him?
Mrs. G: It was probably just rumor like you said! Natelie's smart she knows right from wrong! (hopeful thinking)
---Girls' Bedroom---
Nat: I'm soo excited!!
Tootie: well, I would be too!! I mean he's a hunk!!
Jo: (walks in) hey Nat... do you know about Duke?
Nat: what do you mean?
Blair: Well last year he got busted for pot!
Nat: Oh that!! yea I heard that rumor last year... but i don't believe it!!
Tootie: Yea, he doesn't seem like the type!
Blair: I wouldn't be too sure!! (says to self)
Mrs. G: (walks in) Natalie... Duke is waiting for you downstairs...
Nat: Oh he's here already? ok see you all later!
Mrs. G: Natalie be careful!!

Nat: (leaves)
Blair: (has worried look on her face)
Mrs. G: Blair don't worry I'm sure Natalie will be fine!!

Duke and Nat: (kissing)
Duke: (tries to lay her back)
Nat: (pushes him up) Duke no... I dont want to do that!
Duke: what's wrong? am I going to fast?
Nat: Yea... I'm not that kind of girl.. this is fine (kisses him)
Duke: (tries to lay her back again)
Nat: (pushes him up again) Duke i said i didnt want to do that!!
Duke: ok well can't i at least kiss you?

Blair: (looks out window) It's getting intense out there!!
Mrs. G: Blair don't spy on Natalie!!
Tootie: (looking out window) wow.. me and Jeff aren't that bad!!
Mrs. G: What!?!? (runs to girls and looks out the window) Oh you girls... they're just kissing
Blair: And you know what that leads to!!
Mrs. G: (slaps Blair) Blair!! Come on... get away from the window!! (pulls girls around and leads them to sit on the couch)
Nat: (pulls back from Duke)
Duke: what's wrong?
Nat: Nothing...
Duke: ok great! (pulls something out of pocket)
Nat: Duke what's that!?!? Is that marijuana!!
Duke: yea... so what!?
Nat: You mean those rumors were true!!
Duke: Come on Natalie, its just marijuana!!
Nat: Yea well it's also illegel!!
Duke: Natalie it's no big deal... come on have some!!
Nat: No i dont do those kinda of things!
Duke: come on Natalie, it'll calm you down!!
Nat: Duke I dont know!!
Duke: Come on Natalie... everybody's doing it!! Its not that big of a deal! (hands it to Natalie)
Nat: (grabs it and hold onto it looking at it)

Nat: (walks in) Hi everyone!!
Mrs. G: Hi Natalie did you have a good time!!
Tootie: Yea I bet your make-out session was fun!!
Mrs. G: Tootie!
Nat: (laughs really hard) That was funny Mrs. Garrett!!
Mrs. G: (puzzled look) Natalie?
Nat: Well, I'm tired I'm going to go to bed!!
Tootie: Don't forget we're having lunch together tomorrow ok?
Na: (Laughs really hard again) Stop making me laugh!! (laughs some more)
Blair: What's up with Natalie!?!
Mrs. G: (puzzled look) I dont know... but i'm giong to go see...
Jo: I'm comming with you Mrs. G!
Mrs. G and Jo: (walk up the stairs)

Mrs. G and Jo: (walk into bedroom)
Mrs. G: Natalie, why are you acting so weird?
Nat: I am not acting weird!!!
Jo: (looks at Mrs. Garrett) watch this Mrs. G... Hey Natalie, what do you think of the word grapes!?!
Nat: (laughs extremely hard) that is the funiest word I ever heard!!! (laughs really hard) I think I am going to die of laughter!!
Jo: (looks at Mrs. Garrett) See! (looks at Natalie) Natalie there is deffinately something wrong with you!!
Natalie: There's nothign wrong!!! (shouts)
Jo: (talks to Mrs. Garrett) See, there were these boys in my neighborhood who handed out marijuana to younger kids and would get high with them and this is how they acted all of the time when they were... high!!
Mrs. G: (looks at Jo) So you're telling me that Natallie is high on drugs!!
Jo: That's what it looks like to me!!
Mrs. G: Natalie!! (angrily) Did Duke have marijuana with him tonight!?!?
Nat: (Laughs) yea... why? (laughs more)
Mrs. G: And did you have some!?!? (even more angrily)
Nat: (laughs really hard) yea... why? (laughs more)
Mrs. G: WHAT!!!! (shouts)
Nat: Please Mrs. Garrett stop it!! I've got a head ache already!!
Mrs. G: Natalie this is serious!!! This is illegal!!!
Nat: Oh my... could you please make the room stop spining!!! (lays on bed and closes eyes)
Mrs. G: Natalie!!!
Nat: Mrs. Garrett stop yelling!!
Mrs. G: I can't believe you Natalie we need to talk!!!!! (shouts)
Nat: I can't talk I only hear mumbling!!
Jo: Mrs. Garrett the best cure is for her to get some rest, she cant understand you right now, she hears different words than the ones you are saying... thats why everything is soo funny... you can yell at her in the morning when she's better!!!
Mrs. G: And how do you know this!!! (puts hands on hips)
Jo: Cuz my best friend was one of the kids that those boys got high with, she did it a lot and would come to my house... i'd have to hide her from my parents and the only way for her to get better was sleeping... (gets teary eyed)
Mrs. G: Ok Jo (leaves room)
Jo: (leaves room)
---Girls' Bedroom---- (next morning)
Nat: (wakes up and screams)
Tootie, Jo, and Mrs. G: (run into the room)
Tootie: Natalie!!! What is it!!
Jo: Where's the fire!?!?!
Nat: I thougth i was in the shower in my clothes!!
Tootie: what? thats it!?!?!
Mrs. G: Jo is Natalie going to be ok? (worriedly)
Jo: Yea... give it time...
Mrs. G: (By Nats bedside)
Tootie: (Next to Mrs. G)
Jo: (across from Tootie and Mrs. G)
Nat: Could you please get out of my face!! (sits up and gets out of bed and sits on end of bed)
Mrs. G: What?
Jo: Natalie do you remember last night?
Nat: (puzzled look) Um... I remember Duke pulling something out of his pocket and giving to me... and that's about it!!
Jo: Natalie!! you were high on marijuana last night!!
Nat: What!?!? No way!! i wouldnt do that!!
Mrs. G: Well, Natalie... You were!! I am just sick!!! You and me are going to have words later!!! (disappointed)
Nat: I was? oh... i remember everything now!! Maybe i was a little weird... but i wasnt high last night!
Mrs. G: Natalie... did you have marijuana last night with Duke!?!?
Nat: Yea... i had some... not that much!!
Jo: Nat... It doesn't take a lot to get high off of that stuff... it's powerful stuff!!
Mrs. G: Jo, how do you know so much?
Jo: look (gets tears) My best friends used to get high all of the time and i had to take care of her until she stopped!
Tootie: oh so she did stop!!
Jo: (starts crying) No Tootie... she died of a drug overdoes one night!! (sits on Tootie's bed and cries)
Mrs. G: (walks over to Jo and comforts her) Oh..Jo.. you never told us about that
Jo: Well, i dont liek to talk about it
Mrs. G: (looks over at Natalie who is looking at the floor) Natalie, do you see how drugs can affect you physically and mentally now!! They kill you... do you want them to kill you?
Nat: No Mrs. Garrett (sounds ashamed)
Tootie: Nat why did you do it?!?!
Nat: Duke said that everyone was doing it...
Jo: No Natalie I am not everybody!! (Gets up and shouts)
Tootie: Me Niether!!
Mrs. G: And certainly not me!!!!
Nat: Well, you weren't there to say that when Duke offered it to me where you!! and he said it would calm me down... I told him I wasn't that kind of person but he kept sticking it in my face!!
Jo: Well, why didnt you get out of the car... I mean you were in the driveway...
Mrs. G: (gets up) you mean you did all of this on my property!!
Nat: Yea (says trying not to let her know)
Mrs. G: Natalie... Natalie... how could you let him influence you!! You know better than that!! You're such a good person, at least you used to be... I dont know what to think anymore!
Nat: I dont know!! OK!!! (starts to cry... covers eyes when crying)
Mrs. G: (sits next to Natalie on her bed) Look Natalie... I am very angry with you.. but that doesn't mean that i still dont love you... we'll get through this... we'll get through this... (rocks back and forth with natalie and comforts her)
Blair: (walks in) Natalie I have some disappointing news...
Mrs. G: Blair what is it?
Blair: Duke died last night...
Nat: WHAT!! (gets up) But... I just... I just saw him!! (sits back down and cries more)
Blair: He had to many drugs last night... to many different kinds... to much of them all... (walks over to Natalie and sits on Tootie's bed) and he just... he...
Tootie: died??
Blair: yea...
Mrs. G: Oh Natalie!! Do you realize how serious this is now!?!?
Nat: yea.. (says cryingly)
Mrs. G: (whipes Nat's face) Oh Natalie... You learned a harshful lesson the hard way ... But i hope you learned a lesson (says greatfully and angrily)
Nat: Don't worry Mrs. Garrett... I deserve everything I get... But i can't believe that he's... gone!! (thinks to self)
Mrs. G: Let's cheer things up and have a big breakfast!! After all it is Sunday!! What ya say?!?
Nat: Sure... but why are you being so nice about this? what about my punishment?
Mrs. G: Oh i think you're punishment was the whole thing.... Duke... everything... but you're going to have to work 6 extra hours in the store...
Nat: (sighs) I deserve it!!
Blair: come on lets go get breakfast!!
Tootie: Yea!!
Nat: (hugs Mrs. Garrett) thanks for being here for me!!
