I just had to make a thread for him because I think he is a fabulous actor. He had great comedic timing, but was also great at the dramatic stuff. Some of his scenes with Becky were just great.
I really expected to see him in more films after this show wrapped, but sadly, that has not been the case. Why isn't he in more?

Yeah, but I meant more quality work in films. I think he's capable of an Oscar, if he finds the right vehicle. Not stuff like Coyote Ugly or the Big Lebowski.
Has anyone seen One Night at McCool's? He's in it with Matt Dillon and the premise sounds interesting but I've heard conflicting things about it. I'll have to rent it sometime.
Hey! I just remembered he was on the West Wing and got an Emmy nomination for Studio 60. So, at least he's out there.

He has been real busy since Roseanne finished. Did you all see him in that Bobby Darrin bio movie starring Kevin Spacey a few years back BEYOND THE SEA?
Here are John's accomplishments:

John really has some acting skills. He really showed that during his run on Roseanne. The obvious funny scenes, but most of all, those dramatic scenes. He brought forth realism to character. One reason I hated how he would defend Becky in her issues and yet, she ranted and screamed at him, blamed him for the downfall of the business. Any other show I probably would have just blown it off, but Roseanne show was so real, many could identify with it, no matter your financial status or your family situation.

He did have his own show a few years ago, called "Center of the Universe", but that was cancelled after only 16 episodes. It was just like Roseanne, except Dad was in control, not Mom. It was a good series, and it's too bad it got cancelled.

Thanks, Irene! I love Kevin Spacey and Greta Scacchi so a movie with all of them? Sounds like I know what I'm watching tomorrow night!
Plus, I'm doubly curious since Spacey wrote and directed this as well.
Thanks again,[B] Irene[/B:wave: ]!

You are welcome.
PLUS! Kevin did his OWN singing. There are some parts of the movie that I found unnecessary, but if you like bio movies, this is a pretty good one.

John Goodman is one of my all-time favorites. He can act and his comedic timing is perfect. He can keep a straight face when needed, make silly faces when needed, be totally serious and bring tears to your eyes. And let's not forget HE CAN SING!
John Goodman also reinforces the fact that a real human being does not have to have six-pack abs, a phony tan or hair that is moussed to stand at attention.
He is a real man.

He really is. I found him attractive at times. I especially loved his imiatation of Robert DeNiro. Who else did he imitate?
Remember his role in THE BABE? Magnificent.;)

Here's what John said about repeatedly portraying the Clinton/Lewinsky affair informant: "You know, I always felt bad about that. For one thing, after the scandal was over, it was kind of beating a dead horse. I certainly didn’t like her politics or agree with what she did, but after a while, I felt like I was picking on her."
