Today, they had a biography of actor Sal Mineo on the Biography Channel. I was fascinated with the episode. At abt the 25 minute mark, an appearance by David Cassidy was made.
David talked abt meeting Sal Mineo at his home when his father, the late Jack Cassidy brought Sal over for dinner. David stated he was fascinated with Sal for the fact that Sal had just finished making a movie abt the life of drummer Gene Krupa. Sal had to learn how to play the drums for the role. Something that fascinated David. David talked abt how he talked endlessly with Sal abt the drums, playing the drums, etc. David then went on to say that a few days later he had received a large box with a ribbon on it. Sal had sent David a full drum set and thus, David's fascination with musical instruments begun. David said he was just overwhelmed with the gift and was very grateful to Sal.
Later in the biography, David talked abt the loss of Sal and what a class act he was, how nice he was and what a loss it was to have his life brutally taken away.
