was Donna's primary sponsor from 1958 until 1965 {Johnson & Johnson, and later Singer Sewing Machines, were the "alternate sponsors"}. At the time, the custom of TV corporate sponsorship was for the star and/or cast to deliver a "plug" for the sponsor's product at the end of the show, before the closing sponsor I.D. and credits. Donna was no exception; if she had to extol the virtues of Campbell's soup, Franco-American spaghetti, et. al., she did. She even toured the Campbell facilities in Camden, N.J. for publicity purposes.

that's right; and the practice stopped in the early 70s.
