The new I-280 bridge is open.

It's open to only two lanes of traffic each way while more work's done, but it's open to traffic. Here are pics.

I had the good fortune of driving it this past Sunday coming home from Michigan! Looking down toward the Maumee River, I almost got a sense of vertigo and dizziness! (I've crossed I-80 between Illinois and Iowa before, and that baby's higher off the ground, LOL.)

What was underwhelming was the fact that this was my first drive on Toledo's I-280 (and OH 420, for that matter), so I don't know what it was like before the construction. I hope to go back and see the road once all lanes are open to traffic.

Toledo happens to be my native city. I'm checking out the bridge the next time I'm there.
