Hi Madame X! Don't mean to be picky, but Frasier debuted in September 1993. Bush Sr. was already out of office by then. So Frasier is only a 2 President show. :)

True! I wasn't sure about the month when Frazier debuted. Bush went out in '93 and Clinton came in in '93. I guess that was in January?

Are we counting syndicated shows here? Syndicated shows usually air outside prime time, though they often appeared in prime time access. If not, then Hee Haw couldn't be counted, since it was only on network 1969-1971 (entirely in Nixon's Presidency), and Death Valley Days wouldn't be counted at all since it was always syndicated. Wild Kingdom and Lawrence Welk would still count, but only through Nixon, since they both left their networks in 1971.

Yes, syndicated shows count. I'm just not counting the soap operas or talk shows (like Today or the Tonight Show) because those have all run for years and years, as they were intended to.

Hee-Haw was in fact syndicated throughout most of it's run but the stations that carried it often did so during primetime hours. In some markets it aired on Saturdays and other on Sundays usually at 7 or 8pm depending on the station. As for Death Valley Days, The schedules again would vary by station but my TV Guides from back then had it listed during primetime hours as well. Wild kingdom and Lawrence Welk aired during primetime in most markets after they were syndicated so their runs through the Presidencys I named should count. Monika also made no mention of syndicated shows not being included but it's her thread and her call. I regret that I no longer have my TV Guide collection or I would scan a few pages.

Isn't presidential inaugurations usually held on January 20?
If so then Dynasty technically sort of counts. It aired during Jimmy Carter's final days and days before Reagan officially took the presidency when it debuted on January 12, 1981 and that was 8 days before Reagan officially stepped into office.

How many dozens of times have I skimmed this thread and never caught...
Danny Thomas-Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson
Arguably four presidents, yes, but not those four. Make Room For Daddy debuted many months after Truman left office, so if you count Make Room For Grand-Daddy, the run spanned Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon.
