View Full Version : Moonlighting Becomes You Question
At the end of the episode when 99 asks Max about the stage gun and the Chief walks over holding his arm didn't make any sense too me. Anybody care to explain the sequence. I've obviously missed something.:(

When Hannibal Day and 99 ask how Max knew the sound effects gun would fire bullets instead of blanks, the Chief answers that when Max first picked up the gun and "started firing all over the place, I was hiding behind a curtain."
You didn't miss anything, Ph1l. The Chief's explanation didn't really make sense because Max didn't realize the gun had fired real bullets until he hit Hammerstein. I thought that maybe they forgot to include a reaction shot where Max would look surprised when the Chief was hit, but even that doesn't work because it looked like shooting Hammerstein was an accident too.
Afterthought: I can accept the fact that the Chief's wound was not bleeding because I don't think they were allowed to show blood, but when he starts gesturing with the same arm and showing no signs of pain that was just too hysterical.
Thanks Bonsai. Sounds like you saw it the way I did.
There isn't really an explanation why Max would know the stage gun had suddenly become a real one. He didn't look surprised when he shot Hammerstein.
