We have all cats and thankfully we don't use any of the aforementioned brands. Does make you wonder though...what a sad story. :(

We use Iams...
I had no idea that so many brands of pet food were made by the same company.

my dog uses Purina and Alpo so i guess he's ok? he was puking the other day but he's not anymore.
I don't have any of those brands except for Mighty Dog and it says pouch
but I have it in a can. Do you think its ok to use since it didn't say anything
about Mighty Dog in cans?

This sure had me worried. My mother called and told me about it this morning. We had used some of those brands in the past but all the foods out pets are on now are not on that list. Phew! I was so worried. We feed our animals Meow Mix, Cesar's, and Pedigree.

The only one I see on there that we did give my cat one time months ago was the science diet savory cuts. Now we just give her fancy feast- thank goodness that isn't on the list!

Those poor animals. I'm glad that none of the pet food we feed out cats is on the list.

I was worried about it to and thankfully I don't feed my pet's that!! And I feel bad for the Pet Owners that who lost there pet's because of it.. The New's said, it causes Kidney Faliure. ( Sorry Spelling?) ....But those of you who feed you're pet's that food that is listed I would stop feeding them that brand of food and switch to a differnt.. just to be on the safe side.:) Has soon has I heard a website from the TV Channel 3 New's, I printed out the list.. so I know when I go shopping not to buy them.

Thank god Fancy Feast isn't on the list, because that's what we feed our cats sometimes.
We feed them Iams too, but in the dry form and they've been fine so far. But I'm gonna keep an eye on them regardless.

Right now, I'd be concerned about any kind of "wet" food. I've checked several sites and many stores are pulling ALL wet (canned or pouched) food from their shelves just to be safe.
I buy strictly the Waltham's vet diet stuff from my vet so I know my guys are o.k..
For TJL - yes, Menu Foods are the largest manufacturer of private-label and custom label pet foods. They used to be owned by Cott Beverages who are the largest of the same type of manufacturing in the bottling industry. I know because the company I work for used to own Cott (they were sold in 1997).
I had my cats on IAMS for about a year, but took them off when I learned the stuff is garbage. Full of fillers and false calories and my "kids" were packing on the weight like crazy.

With all those brands I thank God we don't use any of those. I was scared because my boyfriend told me our dog Duke had puked and my eyes just bugged out.

I'm glad I only feed my cats Purina Little Friskies Chef's Blend, only dry food. Is Whiskah's part of that list?? I can't believe Iams is on the list, especially when it's been touted as the best. Also, what brand is Alley Cat?

I know the cartoon is meant to be funny, but there's more truth than you know. I called my vet during the early part of the recall. He told me then that it really doesn't matter what food you feed them - it can happen with ANY of them - even the vet endorsed really expensive ones. Very scary.
Frankly, I'm amazed that people in China aren't dropping like flies. Unless it's a global conspiracy where they only use the contaminated stuff for export!! ;)
