View Full Version : Funny Animal Episodes
Can you remember some funny sitcom episodes that had animals in them?
This may have been done before but I couldn't find it.
On an episode of Andy Griffith, Barney tries to train a dog, named Blue, to hunt down an escaped convict. Everytime Barney blew a dog whistle the dog
would get angry and come after Barney. It was pretty funny.

Any episode of Frasier (or scene) that revolved around Eddie was a classic!
Also on I Dream of Jeannie there was a dog named Jin Jin that would turn
invisible and rip apart everyones uniforms.

Alot of Empty Nest episodes had Dryfus the dog. The first season of the Brady Bunch had Tiger. Of Course Bewitched had a few episodes with animals, when Sam turned a client into a dog, a monkey was turned into a human, a bird turned into a human, Serena turned Mother Stephens into a cat.

All great examples...my fave of those is when Samantha turned the lech Mr. Barker (Jack Warden) into a dog. Hilarious!! :D

Yeah that was good, and the time Sam turned a horse Dollyran into a human. And when the Warlock who liked Sam turned himself into a dog and growled at Darrin. I also liked when Maurice turned Darrin #2 into a dog, lol.

The warlock with a hopeless crush on Samantha who turned himself into a dog was played by a very young Richard Dreyfuss!! Cool, huh?? :D

Yeah, that's one reason I like the old shows you can see some future stars.

she also turned a bully into a bulldog and her friend into a butterfly, LOL.
Also on Andy Griffith a billy goat ate some dynamite, that was pretty funny,
they were trying to keep him from blowing up.

Yep, he was on that episode. It probably wouldn't have been as funny if not
for Barneys reactions.:)

Sorry, don't know the season, I taped it off tv & they don't show what season it is. I have episodes of Andy, Lucy, Cheers, & All in the Family that I
taped together on the same tape and I bet I have 50 or 60 tapes like this.
Some day I'd like to convert them to DVD and seperate them by show but it
seems so overwhelming. Do you have your shows seperated & listed in order?

"Never Name a Duck" This is an episode of the Dick Van Dyke Show in which Rob Petrie brings home a couple of ducklings left over from a sketch on the Alan Brady Show. The moment his son Ritchie lays eyes on them he adopts them as pets. One duck gets sick and dies. When the second duck gets sick Rob finds himself in the waiting room of a Vet's office. Here he meets several other pet owners and their pets. (look for an especially humorous bit involving a pet kangaroo!) Eventually the duck is released into a pond to live out its life with other ducks and everyone lives happily ever after.
Another funny animal episode is on the Brady Bunch when Greg is involved in the kidnapping of a rival highschool's mascot(Racquel the goat). He hides the goat in his room where it wreaks havoc before escaping and touring the Brady house on the same day Mrs. Brady is hosting a PTA meeting!
On King Of Queens, Doug & Carrie are staying in a motel and when Doug goes into the bathroom, he finds a bat flapping around. He comes out & gets the hairspray thinking he can freeze up the bats wings but it doesn't work and only makes the bat mad.
On an episode of Seinfeld, Kramer takes over a hansom cab job for a short time. And while he's caring for the horse Rusty, he feeds him some food out of a can that gives the horse really bad gas, which makes for a hilarious hansom cab ride.
