Best - Samantha Stephens. Whether she was dressed in jeans and a sweater for a casual day around the house, a stunning evening gown to accompany Darrin to his business parties, or sleepwear, the witch had an awesome wardrobe! (Pardon the pun.) Liz Montgomery sure had some awesome wardrobe people on Bewitched.
Worst - Helen Roper. That wig and those godawful muumuus - no wonder Stanley wasn't interested!! Why didn't Chrissy or Janet take her out shopping and to get a makeover? Or did I miss that episode??

I love the Ann Marie clothes too, especially early on in the show when they were very mod.
I haven't watched Get Smart in years (no one shows it!) but Barbara Feldon's outfits were always great.
Best - The Ladies from Designing Women.
Worst - Roseanne

I don't know who's the best-dressed but Helen Roper definitely wins for worst-dressed. My God, those dresses were hideous!

Actually Eva Gabor always looked very chic in Green Acres as well. Despite living in that ramshackle house of theirs! They recently showed a funny ep where Oliver takes Haney to court and Lisa has a smashing Red White and Blue outfit with a scarf on.

That was a wig Audra worn in Three's A Company and she actually doesn't really dress like that.:p You actually can see that she is a very sophisicated dressed lady in real life. Pitty, she died of leukemia and her really last movie appearance was relic. So much for recognition....:o Everybody should have been embarased appearing in that movie.

I know it was only a wig that she wore. I read in a Three's Company book that Audra Lindley was the least-recognized cast member because she was actually blond and wore trendy clothes in real life!! I also saw some pictures of her when she played Aunt Liz on Another World back in the 1960s. I didn't even recognize her!!

I know, but no woman would want to be wearing Mrs. Ropers' those horrid 70s mumuus again. Come to think of it, Mrs. Roper always looked like she wore the same clothing material in the house or outside. The only time she wore something okay was when she didn't wear a mumuu, but only a waiter clothes in one episode where Jack and the two girls were waiters for a fancy party. Also, when she seen her from the shoulder when Mrs. Roper and the two girls went to a nude beach, but only came back because it was raided. That's all I remember her wearing. Just that.

The reason why Edith Bunker wore those dated dresses is because they were capturing the early 70s homemaker/working class look to her character. Scary as it may sound, but people around her age or maybe much older living in Brooklyn or Queens possibly did worn those types of clothing back in the early 70s. They look dated, yes, but it was possibly because she was a plain ordinary wife to the audience and the viewer. Hell, even Wheezy earlier wardrobe was nothing to brag about. Sometimes she wore something dynamite, sometimes she wore like an old lady type dress(see 1st Season), but you have to remember that style of dress was popular 1970-1975.

Best:
I do agree with Samantha Stephens (Elizabeth Montgomery) especially in the final season of Bewitched. Even though the show was horrible in the final season with the recycled episodes but we got treated to her wearing mini skirts and long blond hair. She was looking hot.
Helen Willis (Roxie Roker) of the Jeffersons. She was a flashy dresser and the show wrote her to be more flashier and with it.
Vivian Banks (Janet Hubert-Whitten) of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. When Janet was on the show she dressed quite flashy and she looked good. Her jewelry was great.
Janet Wood (Joyce DeWitt) of Three's Company. The last two seasons she looked great when Joyce grew her hair out and wore mini skirts. She became more attractive.
Worst:
I agree with Audra Lindrey of Three's Company. That was awful what she was wearing and that hairdo of her's was something to be desired.
Janet Wood (Joyce DeWitt) on Three's Company. The first three seasons her wardrobe was not very good and it gave her a plain Jane look especially with that god awful perm
Louise Jefferson (Isabel Sanford) of The Jeffersons. Her clothes was nice but with her built and showing so much cleavage was a bit much for me. Roxie Roker is a far better attractive woman than Isabel and slender but she did not wear those low cut tops like Isabel did.

Worst: Don't forget Florida's bright orange 70s-retro clothing! Those were horrible clothing she worn.

Now that I've watched MTM seasons 1-4 on DVD, I really enjoyed a lot of the outfits Mary and Rhoda wore. I dress quite similar, now that a lot of '70s styles and patterns are in again. I love it!!

Maude (Bea Arthur) always wore those godawful caftans. I wasn't born when Maude was on the air so maybe caftans were in fashion then. I also think anyone who wore a muumuu on TV belongs on this list as well!!
