To my understanding. on the DVD, the episodes are the edited versions. THat really sucks . . . now sales are sure to be down.

Shawn who's doing the review for SO has said that he's unsure about the edits. If the episodes are edited, odds are they are small edits.

I was thinking that entire scenes would be cut, so I'm slightly relieved that edits may be small ones. I guess we'll have to just buy the DVD and see for ourselves ;)

If you look at the runtimes, that is still very low for '96. They should still be around at least 22:30 each. Under 21 looks to be edited, but just a few lines--not a whole scene.

$42 for this set is very expensive. It's a simple snap case, with no special features, and edited scenes? That could be the worst price for a DVD that I've ever seen. Let's hope we can find it for under $30 somewhere.

I agree, $42.00 is outrageous for a bare-bones set like this. Amazon.com are listing it for $27.99 though. It's the cheapest that I've found on any site, so I've already pre-ordered mine

I don't know what bothers me more, the fact that the episodes are edited or that the original cost for them was so damn steep. Though I've seen a mostly positive response with this set despite this. For instance, the music edits that were done were at least replaced with music that fit the scene, unlike with other shows that have had music edited (Family Ties, WKRP in Cincinnati). So that sets my mind at ease. I might buy this after all.

I'm guessin season 2 is a bit edited also? It's still $42 MSRP though. Shows like Sabrina today can be found for under $25 anywhere, so I don't know why Paramount decided to put it so expensive. Was ithe set really that expensive to produce? Although, I am glad that Paramount is giving us a second season.

from what I've watched so far, only music has been replaced. None of the musical guests' peformances have been cut out yet (thankfully). I'm still one disc 1 though.
