LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox has given early pickups to "House" and "Bones," handing out full-season orders to both drama series for 2007-08.
"House," which airs at 9 p.m. Tuesdays, has been renewed for a fourth season, while "Bones," which airs at 8 p.m. Wednesdays, will be back for a third installment.
"House" stars two-time Golden Globe winner Hugh Laurie as the brilliant but unconventional Dr. House. "Bones" stars Emily Deschanel as a forensic anthropologist and David Boreanaz as an FBI special agent who investigate homicide cases.
Both series have benefited recently from Fox's megahit reality series "American Idol," which serves as a lead-in to "House" and a lead-out to "Bones."
This week's episode of "House" -- Fox's top drama and television's No. 3-ranked scripted series in the adults 18-49 demo -- posted its second-highest total-viewer numbers ever (26 million). Season-to-date, "House" is averaging 17.4 million viewers.
As for "Bones," last week's episode drew 12.6 million viewers -- tying its best performance ever. The show is averaging 8.8 million viewers to date.
