David Nelson and his beautiful wife June had separated shortly before his father Ozzie fell ill with terminal cancer of the liver. The family was sad by the separation, but Ozzie told his son "not to despair" and indeed shortly after his divorce was finalized he married Yvonne adopting her three children by her first marriage blending their families together to make five children.
David and Yvonne have been married for 31 years. They are elegant and are doing wonderfully enjoying their family which includes several grandchildren.
Harriet had been hospitalized for the month prior and asked her son to bring her home to the beach house she and her husband built in 1952, and wasn't there a day when she passed away from congestive heart failure on October 2, 1994. She was 85.
Ozzie and Harriet had left a wonderful legacy of recordings from their big bands days to the "adventures' of Ozzie and Harriet" to be enjoyed for years to come.
