TV Land has made it clear that they are moving in a new direction. They will cancel I love Lucy when the contract is up the end the end of this year. They will continue to show a few classics but mostly moving towards reality and the such.
How sad, it was once a great channel.

What's happened to TV Land is a tragedy for all who know TV and can remember past 1 year how great TV used to be. I stopped watching TV Land 4 years ago. When the great shows from the '50's and '60's left, so did I. TV Land's whole purpose was to bring to an audience who had no where else to go to see Classic TV shows, meaning shows from '50's, '60's, and early '70's. TV Land stabbed all those loyal CLASSIC TV fans in the back after about 3 years on the air. What TV Land used to make fun of and the bad shows they used to insult they now show endlessly over and over and over. Even if I was the biggest MASH fan in the world I wouldn't want to watch 6 episodes a day. Showing multiple episodes was TV Land's first crime. Now showing multiple episdodes a day of the worst TV shows of all time (their own horrible TV creations plus the horrible new shows they play as supposed "classics") is the last nail in the coffin of a once great channel. Thank goodness for my old TV show DVDs otherwise I'd never turn my TV on.

And such a tragedy that Sony won't release season 2 of Hazel to DVD. I would love to see this. Sales would probably be great as season 2 is all filmed in color and we all know that the entertainment companies want products that will sell and they seem to think that color programs will sell better than b&w. Anyway, does anyone think season 2 will ever be released on DVD?

I wish Season 2 would come out. I'm sure it would look beautiful on dvd in color. They have a listing for it on amazon but with a "Notify me when this becomes available". It just got put up recently. Not sure how that works. But why put it up if it's probable not to be released. Maybe there is some hope.
Season 2 has some of my favorite episodes on it...
Barney Hatfield, Where Are You?
The Natural Athlete
Top Secret
Hazel's Day Off
I've Been Singing All My Life
The Fire's Never Dead While The Ashes Are Red
Hazel's Navy Blue Tug-Boats **one of the best!!**
Hazel's Luck
Maid Of The Month
:) :) :)

It would be a smart intelligent move to put this on TV Land (sadly, this means its unlikely to happen)

I don't want it on TV Land, they butcher every show. I just want TV Land to disappear from tv and a new nertwork, maybe RTN to take it's place. It's bad enought to cut the shows so much, but now they've started to fastforward the credits so muuch it's impossible to see or read them. Some of the shows are cut as much as eight minutes, which means a whole scene can be cut out.

Yep, The Natural Athlete is a good episode where Hazel and Mr. B. square off in a bowling match. Another good one is Oh My Aching Back where Mr. B. hurts his back and tries to keep Hazel from finding out. Would be nice to see other seasons of Hazel issued on DVD, perhaps someday it will happen but I haven't heard any news regarding future releases.

"Thank goodness for my old TV show DVDs otherwise I'd never turn my TV on."
Same here. 200+ channels and nothing but the same garbage on all of them. Other than sports or movies on TCM I never watch televsion. How sad, consdiering that 10 to 20 years ago we had some great channels on cable. Now they have all gone down the drain.
