HOLLYWOOD - Courtney Love has acquired the rights to Charles Cross' celebrated biography on her late husband Kurt Cobain, Heavier Than Heaven, and plans to turn it into a movie.
Love is now reportedly in talks with a number of top Hollywood studios with a view to immortalizing the Nirvana front man's life on the big screen.

In a posting on her fansite, MoonwashedRose.com, Love revealed the film project is "in an embryonic stage," adding, "(There's) no script and no director attached."

The project will be the first official film about the tragic rocker, who committed suicide in 1995, although moviemaker Gus Van Sant cast actor Michael Pitt as a Cobain look-alike in 2005 movie Last Days, which was widely believed to be the director's unauthorized account of the Nirvana star's life.

Courtney, if you have any braincells left after all the years of booze and pills, you will let PROFESSIONAL HOLLYWOOD WRITERS, PRODUCERS AND DIRECTORS handle this project.

You don't need the same people who told you you can act tell you that you'll be just swell as a writer and producer.

Is she going to feature the part where she hires the late Il Duce from The Mentors to "take him out" for causing trouble, in her words?

1)He died in 1994
2)That suicide thing is bull****.I used to work with a guy named Richard Lee way back then who had his own public access show on t.v. called "Kurt Cobain Was Murdered". The guy was known to be a kind of jerk back then, and has made headlines with his being an investigative reporter--and being jerk at the same time, the remaining members of Nirvana don't want anything to do with him, plus he's been known to get into some sort of weird incidents with public figures in Seattle--and the last we've heard he's running for mayor there. His weird stunts have almost undermined his credibility--HOWEVER--the fact remains that there are a lot of things that remain uncleared about the death of Kurt Cobain: i.e., if he killed himself, why did his body contain such a huge amount of heroin that would have made his being able to hold and steady a gun to his head virtually impossible?

Cobain was such a high-profile figure back then, anything was possible. Given the fact that Courtney was such/is such a bizarre and unstable person who lived under his shadow while craving stardom, the possibility of his suicide remains questionable. I "officially" think he killed himself, but there are so many questions left unresolved.

Anything is possible, but if there really was a ridiculous amount of heroin in him at the time of his death, suicide would be almost impossible.

Anything is possible, but if there really was a ridiculous amount of heroin in him at the time of his death, suicide would be almost impossible. So you were saying that his suicide was BS because it was a stupid thing for him to do, or because it it never really happened, that it was most likely homicide? Anything was possible, seems likely we'll never know the truth. Either way, Courtney makes :dollar: :dollar: :dollar:

I don't know. As much of a Nirvana fan as I am, I have a bad feeling this movie will be slanted in Courtney's favor.
