even though i never met any of these people here's the list of some of the celebrities I respect

I would say Tupac most people find him as a gangster but I most people never saw the softer side of pac. It's sad how it took his death to make people realize this.
biggie smalls I would also say. He was a nice loving person. Many women discribed him as a giant teddy bear. His crew would tell him to fire back at the tupac disses but he never really did.
Shaq- How he loves kids and gives back to the community. I heard one time he followed & made an arrest on man who was gay bashing.
Reggie White- A devoted man who always gave back to the community.R.I.P.!
Mohammed Ali- To me he was the one who stop the whole army draft thing. He always fought for what he believed in.

Special indeed. I met Owen at Wrestlemania XII. One of the coolest guys I have ever met. I met his brother Bret at Wrestlemania VII and IX. Bret was pretty cool too. I didn't care for the British Bulldog.

The only 2 that are still alive that I respect are:

Zsa Zsa Gabor and Doris Day

2 wonderful women, who had great careers in film. And have done a lot in charity. May they live on for many more years, and have good health.

Honestly, my list isn't going to be very long since there are only a handful of celebrities I can stand, but here it is nonetheless:

Alive:

- Jake Gyllenhaal (He's a NICE, down-to-earth, and generous celebrity despite the fact he's famous. I respect a lot of celebrities who are like that!)

- John Ritter (Again, a nice celebrity despite his fame. I can't think of another person with a bigger heart. He is sorely missed).

- Johnny Depp (I'm not fanatical about him...well, I do like his early work...but I've always respected the fact that he chooses roles he likes and not just for a quick buck. He chooses to stay away from Hollywood because it's not the glamour that appeals to him, but the acting itself. And he's always very nice to his fans and will gladly autograph for you if you ask. I really respect that).

- Paul McCartney (Again, very down-to-earth and talented. He gives to charities and tries to help out as much as he can. Paul will always be someone I respect).

- Ringo Starr (A very nice guy, never harmed anyone).

Dead:

- John Lennon (No words can describe how much I love this guy. I admire him for being human and saying it like it is--whether through his public statements or his music).

- River Phoenix (I love River, I really do. I've loved him since I was a kid and saw 'Stand By Me' on t.v. for the first time and he'll always be special to me. When I think of the late 80's, early 90's, I can't help but think of River. He was an unforgettable actor, and again, he's one of those actors like Johnny Depp that chooses roles not for the money, but for a meaningful experience. He was a sensitive person who cared for animals and the environment, and he wanted to use his celebrity power to make a difference. It's too bad he got caught up in drugs and died the way he did--I am 100% positive he would've been one of the best, most talented actors of our generation).

More to come when I think of them :)

Very nice lists, everyone.

I'm sure no one was surprised to see the Bee Gees on my list. They're very kind people. Not everyone realises how much they've done. There are some people who think they only produced music from 1975-1979, but they've actually been releasing songs since 1963.

Do you have Spirits Having Flown ? It has some great songs on it like "Too Much Heaven", "Tragedy" (two of my all time favorite songs from them), "Love You Inside Out" and the title track. However, overall, I don't think that that album is as good as the others they made during the 1975-1979 period (Main Course, Children of the World, Saturday Night Fever).

No, I don't have that album, although I have all three of the songs you mentioned on my Bee Gees Numbers 1s compilation CD. I love their 70s music, but I also like their 60s, 80s and 90s music, and I thought their last album, which they released in 2001, was also good.

I hope so. She needs to get back to being a mom more than a party girl. Despite all the Britney is a bad mom! stuff that was going on, I have to admit that it was nice to see that she actually was spending time with her child, vs. leaving him with a nanny 24/7, as seems the Hollywood custom.

dawsongirl, what do you think of the Bee Gees? Even if you don't like their music, they are really nice people. I've seen them in quite a few interviews, and they're very funny and friendly, particularly when they're all together - they had this way of playing off each other.

Mike, the albums I have are a compilation CD of Number 1s, Still Waters, Main Course, High Civilsation, This Is Where I Came In and I also have one of their early albums somewhere.
