I don't see this show mentioned anyplace....I absolutely love it. But it is the kind of show that you either love or hate! Anybody else like this show?

I not only have the entire series on tape but got the unaired pilot with a somewhat different cast (has AJ McLean from Backstreet Boys) on a trade. I wish it hadn't been cancelled then I could watch a new episode every week! Oh, well....

i thought i was the only one that remembered this show.. it was absolutly great.. i still remember the famous " Condom" episode. it is a classic... Nickeloden reaired a few episodes as part of a " Before they were stars the were on nick" special in like 1997 or 1998.

I remember the title of the show, and I'm thinking it was in B&W, but what was the premise of the show? I can't remember.

The show was about a family that's new neighbors are from like a television demension, uh ... it's sorta hard to explain. It was like if the Cleavers moved in next door.
It was really corny, as said before.

It was color but everytime they talked to someone from the "TV World" they used their "Turnerizer" to zap them to black and white. And they had some guest stars from older sitcoms, I can remember Barbera Billingsly being on there.

I only saw one episode of it on Nickelodeon's "Nick Knew Them When." I watched it because it was AJ McLean they were saying they knew. The show was corny, but it really wasn't bad. And I LOVE AJ McLean, and he was so cute back then!

I think that I remember this show on Nick At Nite a few years ago, and I didn't really care for it. I guess it was too corny.

I loved it! Sure it was stupid, but if I wanted to be educated, I'd watch 60 Minutes or CNN!

This was a great show! It was similar in some respects to the movie "Pleasantville". I really liked it when the Neilsens would be visited by characters from other Sitcoms that had also been cancelled. If I remember correctly, Rose Marie dropped by one week as "Sally Rogers". Also, the great Gale Gordon had a cameo as "Mr. Mooney". Someone mentioned Barbara Billingsley. I'm not sure if it was the same episode, but Ken Osmond also appeared as "Eddie Haskell", and of course he complimented Honey Neilsen ("My that's a lovely dress you're wearing Mrs. Neilsen!"). This was one of the most original and imaginative shows on TV.

I loved Honey I'm home. I loved how each week they had a special guest star. My favorite was when Alice from the Brady Bunch visted. She had written a book & Honey started to read it & it starts off there's a story of a lovely lady. I wish it still aired.

Man, I remember when Gale Gordon guest starred as Mr. Mooney -- he must have been close to 100, and looked it (OK, I'm exaggerating, but you get the idea). I couldn't believe that he was still alive. (OT - I read recently that the first Mrs. Wilson from "Dennis the Menace" is still alive, and is around 100 years old. Amazing.)

I loved that show. Really took me back because I was born in the '50s and I can remember it being just like that. I felt bad for Mike Duff, the next door neighbor and the only one privy to the Nielsen's secret. He'd work up the nerve to ask Babs (Julie Benz) out, and she'd turn him down. She seemed to love spinning Mike's heart around like a Frisbee, but she'd have been welcome to do the same to me! :)

Even though Hi Honey I'm Home had a short network run, it was the first sitcom to be shown on a broadcast and cable network. I remember watching a number of episodes, including the one with Gale Gordon. Whenever things went wrong, Honey would always say "Oh pooh!"

If I wanted to be educated I would have watched 60 minutes or CNN.

Exactly, I was in high school when this show was on, but I loved it because it blended the corniness of the classic comedy shows with a semi-real family. I always liked classic sitcoms because they were simple, and just funny. Sure it was silly, but that was the point. My life was too serious and this was my way of having a good laugh.

I remember the episode where the father is getting upset because he is turning a year older. They throw him a party but he was distraught. It wasn't till his friend Grampa Munster visits and they discuss how life has changed that makes everything better.

I mean I wouldn't mind if my favorite tv family were to just drop by for a visit and discuss the children and work.

I just got in the whole thing and I have watched the first three episodes so far. It is a lot better than I thought it would be. Honey gets preety annoying with the "I'll get it" line, but I guess that is the point. The jokes are corny, but I think they are suppose to be. Babs is good, she doesn't have many speaking lines, but she doesn't need to :D, "Chuckie" is kind of a pointless character, he is in the least amount. They make Lloyd sound stupid and a wimp, but I didn't really like that. Overall I would call it a 6/10. I think they tried hard on it. I would have loved to see a GI episode of the show, to bad that never happened. So far it was referenced to in two of the three I saw.

I am not sure which ones are what, there weren't titles, but I got 13 episodes total if that helps any. Dwayne Hickman is in the 13th episode

The original pilot was shown during Nicks 20th birthday in 1999. It had AJ McLean as Skunk. And the opening theme song was slightly different. I wish I had more episodes the only one I know I still have is the one where Honey gets kidnapped and then gets all those security devices.

...of the series produced in 1991 and '92, and shown exclusively on Nickelodeon (the first six also appeared on ABC in the summer of '91). VIACOM owns the rights to the show, and if they ever appear in an "official" DVD box set, it'll be a miracle.

Make no mistake, "HI HONEY, I'M HOME" was pretty good, but who remembers it today????

Hey---this show rocks. . .It was on when I was about 14-15 and was the first time I was aware of Dwayne Hickman or Ann B Davis or----you name it, the gueststars were great--and teh regulars were Broadway actors who went back to stage stuff afterewards and they effing rocked poor li'l Nickat night, which returned to the same sad bs afterwards:eek!

Hoping this means TVland is bringing it back to the air. . .Gone too long, and way smarter than anything that has beenon since! Waaaaaaaaaaay ahead of its time.

Hi HOney I'm HOme is back on line--tvland.com/whattheheck, if you want to see the first episode. I did some research and did you Know:

Michael Patrick King (SEX AND THE CITY, THE COMEBACK) was one of the writers on Hi hOney I'm HOme?

Irene Mecchi (wrote THE LIONKING) was also one of the HOney writers?

And Doug Wright (wrote I AM MY OWN WIFE & GRAY GARDENS) was ALSO one of the writers?

this was a REALLY smart show that deserves a 2nd look!!!!! Highly recomended.

I loved the show --the condom episode was hilarious. ( Honey handing out condoms to kids, saying "Here, have a condomint."

I can't recall if this was the ep where Honey and Lloyd tried real sex for the first time?

I remember the ep where it was the neighbor boy's birthday, and he was cheered when Gomer Pyle showed up with a cake, and the boy's mom asked, "Did you just get back from the Gulf?" and he replied, "Oh, no m'am, I never got out of boot camp."

Gale Gordon was a wonderful character actor --and still consistantly good playing Mr Mooney:wave: :happyface

This was one of only a few shows from the 90s that I really enjoyed. If they ever release it on DVD, I'd certainly buy it. I wish TV Land would re-run the series again.

Actually Sylvia Field, who played Mrs. Wilson, died in 1998 at age 97.

We loved the show also. We were fortunate to be in the audience during the taping for the episode with Ann B. Davis (Alice on The Brady Bunch) in it. We had a lot of fun. Wish there was a way to get the series on DVD.

I wouldn't mind having a DVD set of this either. Only saw a couple of the episodes (I remember the one with Barbara Billingsley, where she and Honey were sitting at the kitchen table and Honey hits the remote control to change everything to black and white). I also loved their doorbell (it chimed to the tune of "Hi Honey I'm Home!")

"The Instant Rerun"... definitely an idea that had some potential!
