What do you guys think of the new show, That's My Bush? I don't really like it that much. I watched the second episode. The first 5 minutes were very amusing, but the show's scripts and acting was really dull and unfunny I thought. Maggie was the only character in the show who seemed to be funny at all. Anybody agree?

I've never seen it. I don't plan on ever watching and I don't feel that I'm missing out on great comedy.

I love this show!!! If it seems forced and unfunny to you, that's because it's supposed to be. It's a satire making fun of the shows that Stone & Parker grew up with. The show is trying to paint them as insipid as they really were, and just happens to be using the first family as a backdrop.
I think it's an amazing piece of work.

I also think this show is great. This show is all about making fun of sitcom cliches. It's the only sitcom-type show I've ever seen where the laughtrack and applause are part of the joke. Plus, I like the idea of having a wacky neighbor who can just walk into the White House. It's just so absurd it's funny.
"I'm the President!" George W. Bush (Timothy Bottoms)
"Laura, one of these days I'm gonna punch you in the face!"

I've actually been watching the series, and it's gotten alot better! I love Maggie, she is a hoot! I still don't think that it's that good, but it's worth watching now. I liked the one with Barbara Bush.
Maggie: Why don't you put your head out the window, and I'll throw you a brick!
Bush: Laura, one of these days I'M GONNA PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE!
Miss. Cleo: Die, Die, GAY, Die.
Bush: Oh no Laura, I'm Gay!

This show is an absolute disgrace! There's nothing wrong with political satire ("Saturday Night Live" has been doing it since day one), but this goes way beyond satire, and is nothing more than another attempt to smear G.W. Bush (and they have the nerve to call Republicans "mean spirited"!). Imagine the outcry that would have been heard had a show of this type been based based on Bill Clinton! We just finished 8 years of the most corrupt administration in the history of this country, and would have had at least 4 more, had Clinton's stooge Al Gore succeeded in his attempt to steal the election. After Bush has beaten them at every turn, I guess this is all the democrats have left. Then again....they still have Gary Condit.

Finally more people who agree with me! (on the off subject, imagine if Condit was republican, they would have torn him to pieces by now!) And what about how the media left Chelsea Clinton alone? This isnt a political satire, its a satire on a persons life. Totally uncalled for.

Excuse me? It was definately Bush who stole the election. All what Gore wanted was a re-count, but Bush sabotaged it. After two judges (a local one and one of the Supreme Court of Florida) decided Gore could have his re-count, Bush STILL went to the Supreme Court of America! He couldn't take it that Gore was right and, with the re-counting, it appeared that Gore would get more votes then Bush. 5 to 4 judges of the Supreme Court decided Gore couldn't have his re-count, the 5th being a Republican. Also, thanks to America's stupid system, Bush could be elected although Gore had more votes then Bush.
Let alone hundreds of Jewisch voted, thanks to the messy billet, for Buchanan when they wantedto vote for Gore!
So...

This thread and this show should be discontinued from this website. All it causes is conflict.
Another thing is that the media made the deal bigger that it really was. I read up on it in Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right. In that book, Ann Coulter has the most reliable sources that back up her every word.
Remember that there was suppose to be a recount with a 7 day period. The media wasn't happy with that. The Florida Supreme Court went above the constitution, made it 17 days, and then 36 days. The main Supreme Court then said that Florida had no right to extend the limit and that that 2nd or third "recount" was finished and that the recount from there went to Bush.
Another thing is that with popular vote, military ballots and thousands more were tossed into the garbage that were suppose to rightfully go to Bush. They just weren't "postmarked" so they say. This is the thanks from the men and women who protect our country and who wanted a raise from a president who was about to deliver one.
Also could you imagine Gore on September 11th? He would have apologized left and right for what Bin Laden did to us. Also with all of the political correctness, we might have experienced more disasters that we already have from terrorists who would have claimed racial harrassment for being captured in their tracks.
I never discuss Politics on TV sites, but this takes the cake. I hate how Bush is always getting picked on because he is not part of the "In" Crowd. He thinks for himself and he does what is right for you and me. I too was picked on for doing the right thing and now I am here to shove the truth into stupid peoples mouths even if it chokes them. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong and I am talking about from credible intelligence. Not some mainstream media outlets.
Final Thought: Let's Get back to talking about the @#$# sitcoms and not politics.
Thank you

A guy from the netherlands telling us how stupid, 'our system' is, really does belong on the sitcom board. Bush was legally elected, end of story.

I believe the reason Bush was against the re-count was...
#1 it was like the 3rd or 4th re-count. Enough is enough already.
#2 The more times you recount those ballots, the more wrecked they get. The little chads pop out and more and more ballots become throw out votes. Plus the fact that there were little chad eyes all over the floor after every re-count meant that either the ballots were being sabotaged or they were being ruined unintentionally.
5 to 4 judges of the Supreme Court decided Gore couldn't have his re-count, the 5th being a Republican. Also, thanks to America's stupid system, Bush could be elected although Gore had more votes then Bush.

We all saw the supposed confusing ballot. If a person actually took their time making their vote instead of voting hap-hazardly, then there would have been no problem in punching out the proper corresponding chad.

Shouldn't this be written at the Bush vs. Gore post in the politics section of this website?
Gore wasn't legally entitled to a 3rd or 4th recount. Bush's military ballots were thrown in the trash because they weren't technically "postmarked". In fact, when reviewing the list, there were fake votes given to Gore. In fact, dead people voted. I think my deceased dog might have voted for him. I had to read that in special news and the mainstream news barely brought it up.
According to the law, You are only entitled for a recount to last 7 days. The spoiled sports, who were mad at the electoral college who put Bush in, somehow supernaturally got it to go 16 days and then to 36 days. Is there something wrong here? I think so... 16 and 36 should have never existed.
In the Chicago Tribune, there was a story printed (conveniently after 9/11) which showed that if Gore got his way, Bush would have won and if they did what Bush requested, Gore would have gotten his way.
That whole thing about the Blacks not getting their voice heard is partisan politics in action. It's typical that the race card (which was invented by the "equal rights" left wing, stirrs that kind of hatred to keep people the "minorities" on their side, and it is successful. I never came across any news that said that Jews were excluded. That is a new one, a new one that I just heard today.
Bush was at home and never attended any of the court hearings, so how could Bush steal an election? Wouldn't you have to be present to steal something? Also, the electoral college was the one who voted Bush in. Bush kept winning the recounts. The reason the electoral college was invented was because if they weren't you would have the left winning every election. In a country with a biased media (which is getting a little bit better since the news was printed in books and becoming famous), people would have to watch out.
Bush won fair and square, and are we forgetting 9/11? It's amazing how fast we soon forget Justice. I read in a news article that we are back to square one. This country is the way it was before we were attacked.
Read this article:
REPORT: NEXT ATTACK COULD TOP 9/11 October 25, 2002 The Associated Press reports: "The United States remains `dangerously unprepared' to deal with another major terrorist attack, said a report by former top government officials, academics and business leaders.
`In all likelihood, the next attack will result in even greater casualties and widespread disruption to American lives and the economy' than the Sept. 11 attacks, said the task force chaired by former Sens. Gary Hart, D-Colo., and Warren Rudman, R-N.H. The report was released late Thursday.
The report comes a week after CIA Director George Tenet warned that Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network is likely to strike against the United States sometime soon and that the current situation is similar to what existed before the Sept. 11 attacks. Tenet previously said a terrorist attack would be more likely if the United States takes military action against Iraq.
Because a year has passed without a major terrorist attack against the United States, the report says, `there are already signs that Americans are lapsing back into complacency.'
Few of the ships, trucks and trains that enter the United States each day are searched, the report said. Emergency personnel are unprepared for chemical or biological attacks. Oil refineries and energy distribution lines could be sabotaged. State and local police still lack access to State Department terrorist watch lists.
`When it comes to combating terrorism, the police officers on the beat are effectively operating deaf, dumb and blind,' it said…"
NEW YORK WILL FACE BUS BOMBS, MTA SECURITY CZAR IS WARNING October 23, 2002 The New York Sun reports: "Israel-style suicide bus bombings are headed to New York.
That’s the word of Metropolitan Transportation Authority security chief Louis Anemone and Port Authority police chief Joseph Morris who made their assessments after a five-day trip to Israel.
'This stuff is going to be imported over here,' Mr. Anemone said. 'It already has, and I want people to sit up and take notice.'
The two chiefs had gone to Israel to learn about that country’s counter-terrorism programs. Their comments were originally reported in the Jerusalem Post.
The MTA declined to make Mr. Anemone available for further discussion and the Port Authority cited 'security concerns' when it chose not to make Mr. Morris available to discuss his comments…
A senior law enforcement official said that while some problems have been corrected — more communication between the police and fire departments, for instance — there’s only so much that can be done.
'There are only so many people we can keep our eyes on, only so many cars and trucks we can check,' this official said. 'It really is not a question of if but of when.' The official went on to say that the recent attack in Bali just adds to the concern.
'We’ve always looked beyond the obvious targets like Wall Street,' the official said. 'But what this attack did was remind us that we need to look at places like Lincoln Center and Broadway as possible targets.'
A federal law enforcement official agreed. 'It’s not like softer targets like entertainment centers were being ignored,' the official said. 'But the attack in Bali reminded everyone that anything is possible, so you have to be prepared.'…"
This is what the far-too-left is defending. Saddam Heussein a man quoted as saying "Adolf Hitler was too soft...My enemies will never say that about me" is being defended as certain dumb druggie college kids and aged 60's hippies are throwing themselves in the line of fire to defend this Anti- Semitic monster.
What this all boils down to, is Bush has the grapes to do the right thing. These dictators are laughing at us because they are defending the people who want to kill us and our country. As these people debate, it is giving them more time to build.
I get intelligence reports daily, you have no idea how glad you should be that Bush got in office. If it were Gore, the same things would be here, (like the economy which fell in 2000, 2 months before Bush took office) and there would be more attacks before he would hopefully snap and go after the enemy. The enemy is the Jewish hating fanatics who are after us because we support the chosen people. They frequently are after New York because they believe that it is the financial capital of the world and they may be right.
People can remain deceived, but when it happens again and it will, remember which 2000 candidate is most likely to go after the enemy.

You ARE kidding, right RWCTV?
I mean, since this IS a 'comedy based' forum?
How else can you explain such RIDICULOUS statements as...
"Bush won fair and square, and are we forgetting 9/11? It's amazing how fast we soon forget Justice. I read in a news article that we are back to square one. This country is the way it was before we were attacked."
Where to START on THIS statement?
"Bush won fair and square'?
Jesus, whatta RIOT!
BOTH times he was 'elected' the popular vote showed him LOSING by HUGE margins...yet SOMEHOW he won....wow, go figure!
Numerous votes were 'lost', voting booths 'malfunctioned' (all in Red States, by the way, so there would be little questioning involved), etc, etc...the bastard STOLE both elections, plain and simple...he did NOT win anything.
And your commentary that he 'was elsewhere during the election, so how could he steal it?' simple shows your lack of understanding as to how the entire process WORKS...no, he wouldnt PERSONALLY 'steal' the election, dressed in a striped 'burglar costume' and wearing a black mask...his administration stole it, his cronies, his BOYS, for GODSAKES!!!
And regarding your 'we are back to square one. This country is the way it was before we were attacked.' comment...complete BS!
Constantly fearing more attacks?
Long lines at airport security?
Airfare sales and companies plummeting?
Racisism towards middle easterners in full swing?
Paranoia and fear within the constituites and the entire planet HATING us?
Yeah, we sure are 'back to square one', man....
'What this all boils down to, is Bush has the grapes to do the right thing.'
Yeah, if you consider 'the right thing' to be 'lets invade a country that houses all that damn oil we want under the guise that its retribution for 9-11', when that country had little or NOTHING to do with the attacks (they house a lot of terrorists NOW, due to the anger that our 'liberation'...err, INVASION caused! NONE of the terrorists that crashed the 9-11 planes originated from Iraq...NONE!!!)
Yeah, those are some admirable GRAPES on that lying two faced dumb#@#%!, allright!
I get intelligence reports daily, you have no idea how glad you should be that Bush got in office.'
Whatta crock.
I LOATHE this 'logic'...how 'we should be SOOO grateful that Gore/Kerry didnt win and was in charge, or we would all be dead!'...what, you possess a crystal ball that shows you alternate futures or something?
No, you just GUESS from your prejudice towards these men, your dislike for them...you have NO IDEA AT ALL how their administrations would have handled the situation, and because Bush and his 'administration' LIED and CHEATED and STOLE the elections, you never will.
End of story.
