This sitcom was totally awesome, I loved it! It had so much potential, but ABC ripped it off the air only after one season. In case you don't remember, Phenom was about a tennis player (Angela Goethals) and her family living in the suburbs and her tennis coach (William Devane) pushing her to become a tennis playing phenom. Hense the title of the show.

You're right. This was a great show and should've lasted A LOT longer! My favorite was Brian(Todd Louiso). He was hillarious. And Judith Light was great here, as she usually is pretty funny. The whole cast was awesome. I watched it every week, Tuesdays to be exact after Full House. What a great hour! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif. TV shows just aren't the same as they were years ago.

I agree about the show having potential to continue. I didn't think it was the greatest show, but it had good ratings and I would have allowed the show to continue for another season.

Yes, and with such actors as William Devane and Judith Light, the talent was there for really good TV. It should've had more of a chance. The young girl playing the phenom was good, too.

Except she was supposed to be a great tennis player and she didn't even know how to hold a racket. Not very realistic to have your "star athlete" be that pathetic at sports.

I remember this show. It was on in the 93-94 season, when I was in 8th grade. The girl playing the phenom was also one of Macauley Culkin's sisters in Home Alone. It was during the run of this show I wrote to Judith Light and got back an autographed picture! :) The theme song by Carly Simon was cool too.

i really liked the show too but i saw an interview with william devane a few years back and he said that after awhile he really became bored with the show and might have tried to get out of his contract if it had been picked up for year 2. it really a shame that he seemed to feel that way because he was great in the role of lou delarosa

Here lately she's been on "Ugly Betty" as Daniel's boozey mother, its a pretty
good part.

I haven't seen this show in years, I remember watching it though and it was OK. Not one of my personal favorites, but better than a lot of shows these days.

I doubt it will ever come out on DVD, but if it did I'd buy it.
