Haven't seen this show since 1988 and would watch it before I went to school. The Marathon will determine whether I will buy the DVD's.

I don't think Marlo Thomas is that attractive. Joyce De Witt has her beat by a mile.

It aired on an Independent Station(WTGW) in 1988 or 1989. It was one of those years because I had not started High School Yet

I believe it came on TVLand in the mid to late 90's around the time when they had F-Troop and Rhoda in their line up.

I think alot of my not liking her has to be about Marlo Thomas as her self. I don't agree with a lot she says so it turns me off.

Like Irene, I had not seen this show since *cough* the 1970s. I purchased the 2nd season DVD, and I love this show!!!; so I am (definitely) looking forward to the marathon!:)
That's three of us, I haven't seen it since I was a kid in the 70s also. I considered getting the dvds also but haven't.
I haven't seen it since the late 1990s when it aired on Nick at Nite. I still remember staying up extra late just to watch the first few minutes (I'd fall asleep not long after it would come on). This has truly been a blast from the past for me...

Actually, they kinda of look a like..I agree, with Solomon on this one; one of the main reasons why I like the show, is the clothes that Marlo Thomas wore, that girl had some good taste.
I can't help but think of Joyce while watching Ann...they resemble each other.

Yup she reminds me of joyce in the 7th season of Three's Company. I also saw the Train part of the opening credits, you didn't see the train but the camera is on the tracks while the train was moving

I dvr- d most of the eps on th marathon and i spent sunday watching that girl eps. Grew up with a huge crush on marlo thomas and she still doesnt disappoint. there was a great chemistry with ted bessell adn marlo thomas. i really hope the rumors of a new that girl pilot are true, it was a great premise and if done properly could still work.

I love this show, haven't seen it since the mid-70's. She had a great style.
I often watched this show in its original run when I was a kid, and I didn't stop to try to analyze my attraction for it. Then it was syndicated in the 70's, and it fell out of favor with me, so I had seen it hardly at all in 25+ years until last weekend, when I watched about 15 eps. I rather like it again, but I'm sure that circumstance is just temporary. It seems to have been a 'transitory' show between silliness of 60's sitcoms into the 70's era of life-ain't-always-that-good-and-it's-never-that-innocent. The actor who played Lou Marie was really good in that role; stubborn, headstrong, and 'nobody could be good enough for his little girl,' and you could tell he fought an inner struggle with wanting her to be all she wants to be against all he wanted her to be. The show is also good in showing that verbal humor need not be explicit and bordering on vulgar to be funny; it was well-written. One annoyance, however, that I had as a kid and was reemphasized on the marathon, was Ann's voice when she was apprehensious or pleading-- her 'desperation voice,' as I might call it, which sounded like she was going hoarse.

...played "Lou {Lew} Marie" was Lew Parker, a veteran of stage, radio and TV [he sometimes played "John Bickerson" in "THE BICKERSONS" sketches on radio and early TV when Don Ameche wasn't available, and regularly appeared in guest supporting roles, usually as an agent, on "THE LUCY SHOW"]. No one ever portrayed the perfect "impatent, exasperated father" as he did. "Lou" usually had the attitude that began with, "All right, what happened, and when are you two getting married?". Not enough has been said or written about him-Parker was just as much responsible for the success of "THAT GIRL" as Marlo was!
