A month ago I saw the latest remake of"King Kong".
Like the original 1933 film,Kong's final scene takes place on top of The Empire State Building.(The last remake from 1976 had him atop The World Trade Centre.)

However, like Jessica Lange before her,the actress playing "Ann Darrow "in this version really bonded and reached out to Kong. She even tried to protect him and save him.In other words, she was on his side.

Jessica Lange's "Ann Darrow"was the same way.

But not Fay Wray. There wasn't that special sensitive bond between Fay Wray's"Ann Darrow"and RKO's Kong of 1933.She remained terrified of him throughout that film version.

It seems that both the 1976 version and the much more recent version of"King Kong"were more thoughtful than the original perhaps.

I only saw the most recent King Kong, but after seeing it i don't really want to see the others. It was really good and all, but i think the giant bugs and dinos for at least tree-fourths of the movie was too much.
