Has anyone seen this movie? I got this tape at a store that was selling all their stuff real cheap. It's really an awesome movie. It has a lot of stars from 80's sitcoms. It stars Michael J. Fox and Nancy Mckeon, Todd Bridges, Dana Plato, and Crystal Bernard (from Wings) and so much more. Tony Dow plays the principle, Bob Denver plays Crispin Glover's father who by the way plays a nerd and is really hillarious, and I forgot his real name, but Eddie Haskel play's Nancy's father. Man, I feel like I'm sitting on a gold mine and can't share any of it! I wish I had another VCR so I could make copies, but if any of you find this made for tv movie, get it, watch it!! You'll enjoy it, trust me. Especially if you're a 80's sitcom freak like me.

Here's a pic of the box

I've been wanting to see that for like 4eva. Mostly cuz Nancy McKeon is in it.lol. Glad to hear itz a good movie. I'm gonna get it off of amazon.com hopefully. Its only like $9 on there I think.

Is it mainly about Nancy's character Beth and M.J.F's character or just the overall school...?

I remember that movie too. There is another movie that was made about the same time called "Poison Ivy". It also stars McKeon and Fox. They play counselors at a summer camp who fall in love. And i remember reading somewhere that they were dating in real life at the time.

Yeah, it's mainly about Nancy and Michael J. Fox. Michael J. Fox is kind of the class clown who falls in love with Nancy who is dating the popular prep at school Anthony Edwards (the guy in ER and he played Gilbert the nerd, in Revenge of the Nerds). Todd Bridges plays Michael's best friend who is a computer genius. Dana Plato and Crystal Bernard play Nancy's friends who only date the preps. They're the cheerleaders. And Crispin Glover plays a nerd, basically a loser. But he sooo hillarious!! The movie is kinda like your typically teen movie like Sixteen Candles but better. Mainly because of the great all-star cast. Also it's kinda of weird watching Michael J. Fox playing the sort of cool class clown kid. Because you get use to seeing him as Alex P. Keaton, the guy who always wears suits and stuff.

At the end Fox and Edwards have a drag car race like in Grease. Edwards drives a bad @$$ porche and Fox drives a Valiant. Guess who wins?? Fox of course.

Overall it's sooo cool!!! Totally the 80's! I love it!!! I recommend it, find it!! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

You know Curtis, I haven't seen that movie since it was first released (in 1983, I think?), so I don't remember it very well. I love MJF and I like all the other actors in it as well, but I could have sworn that it was overall a cheesy movie. Maybe I'm mistaken. Where did you buy it so cheap (and what price did you pay for it)?

Yeah Paula, it was made in 83 and was a made for tv movie back then. Yeah, you could call it cheesy, but I love it! It has all my favortite sitcoms stars all roled up into one movie. Even the old ones like Giligan. It's so funny, I like Crispin Glover, he plays a great nerd. I bought the tape for $4.99 and also bought me Teen Wolf for $3. And the box that it came with was the old orignal box cover but still in the plastic. The place was a pretty old store. It's called Video Mart, and the cashier guy told me they were closing down, b/c they had alot of old vhs movies and not a lot of customers. Plus they didn't have any DVDs. Glad I was able to get me a copy.

And Jenny, I doubt it will ever be on T.V. but ya never know. Probably it could be shown on Comedy Central, but I haven't seen it on T.V. for a long time. Your best bet is to find it, you'll be happy you did! I am!

Fat chance of me ever finding those videos. I do remember searching for MJF movies in my local area a while back and had no luck. Then again, I was looking for a bargain (I can't afford to pay $20 for every video I want...it also doesn't make sense since VCR's are becoming obsolete). Darn Curtis, I wish you had 2 VCR's so that you could make copies.

Any DS fan is a pal of mine. But in the meanwhile, yeah, why don't you try amazon, or better yet ebay. That's probably the only cheapest way to get it.

Sorry Curtis, I didn't mean to. Hey, is that a Texas thing to say hun? I didn't think about it till afterward.

Oooh that reminds me, I will be visiting San Antonio in May for about a week, because I will need to attend a conference. Ags2000 was kind enough to give me her perception of San Antonio...maybe you can tell me what you think of it Curtis, that is, if you've been there. Is it usually hot there in May?

I saw High School USA back when I was 4 or 5 years old. I remember it as being an average teen-tv movie with a really stupid plot, and very odd characters. Nancy McKeon gave probably the weakest performance of everyone.

I was just trying to be friendly. And no saying hun is not a Texan thing. LOL!! But don't take it personal. Sorry that you took it the wrong way. Yes, it does get hot here in May especially in the summer.

-About High School USA
Weren't all teen 80's movie chessy and had stupid plots? I'm just happy they made this movie where it has alot of the 80's sitcom teen stars all together. And I thought Nancy did a good job and the rest of them. I mean, what do you expect, this movie to be written by Ron Howard? As far as it being entertaining and funny it has it all.

Aw Curtis, it wasn't that bad....I actually thought it was kind of cute anyhow.

Yeah, I know it's a spinoff of DS. But at first I could never relate to FOL, probably cause they were all girls and well....I guess I just never found interest in it. But now I do appreciate the show and it is a good show.

Hey Nancysbiggestfan, what does the J/K mean?

Understandable, Curtis. I love FOL a hundred times more than I ever did in the 80's. I mean, back then, I just thought it was OK. I guess it has something to do with the convenience we had last year when N@N aired it 2x per night.

But even thought I'm older now, I can relate to it quite fine- those eps were written like the girls are 25 (it was done that way on purpose).
