I just can't picture watching the price is right with another host, I think the show should go along with him. It's only right, who agrees?

yes the show should go with him the owners producers and cbs can talk all they want about how the show is the thing and in the eraly years that might have been true but now it is basically the bob barker show and anybody how tries to follow bob has too big of shoes to fill so i say let it go for a few years and then try to bring it back once a new generation of fans grows up and they can grow up with there own host just like we did with bob barker .but for now i know for me it will be too hard to watch it with someone else .and when you think about it will be the price is right in name only

It would be hard to watch the Price Is Right without Bob. He's the last of the classic game show hosts that I grew up with that still is active. They tried to revive Match Game and the Newlywed Game without Gene Rayburn and Bob Ewbanks and they were unsuccessful. They'll probably be unsuccessful here too.

Bob Barker IS the Price is Right. If he goes, the show should go.

I have no problem with another host. The problem is, finding the right host. I have seen TPIR with many different hosts...I guess I have been accustomed to seeing many fill that hosting gig, so I have no problem with someone else coming along. I loved Tom Kennedy and Dennis James when they hosted the nighttime version. I would love to see Tom come back for this gig. I will however say, I didn't care for Ricki Lake hosting TPIR when they had that celeb contestant show on a while back.

The show will go on, the show is a ratings machine for cbs & big time advertising dollars come with the hour that the show is on. The show will go on, but for how long, only time will tell. Bob is the best & the show will never ever be the same. That is the understatement of the night.

not the actual show, but on that game show marathon they did over the summer on cbs, she hosted all the old game shows & they had all the props & rich fields the announcer was the actual announcer for the marathon as well & let me tell you, it made me want to vomit. I felt like I was watching a New York giants game

As long as they pick someone good, then that's fine with me to continue.

The show must go on. I hope the new host should be Kelly Ripa or William Shatner.

I LOVE that guy but I dont think he is TPIR caliber at all. And plus, besides Idol, he's got other jobs (KIIS-FM, top-40, etc.), so he'd be too busy anyways.

The show must go on. I hope the new host should be Kelly Ripa or William Shatner.

I'm sorry, but for me, heck to the no. To both of those suggestions.

CBS and Fremantle have made it clear, the show will NOT be ending when Bob leaves, just so everyone knows.

Bad Move

What do you mean bad move? Please, give me one good reason why CBS and Fremantle keeping The Price is Right on the air is a bad move! Bob Barker is retiring, and at almost 83 years of age, it's time. I did some on-line research, yesterday, to determine who'll likely succeed Bob Barker as host of TPIR. So far, I've come across Todd Newton, Marc Summers and Roger Lodge, to name a few. As far as the TPIR fan majority is concerned, when it comes to who'll succeed Bob Barker on The Price is Right, so far, the leading candidate is Todd Newton. He's hosted TPIR Live in Las Vegas and has also been attending TPIR tapings at Bob Barker Studio at CBS Television City to take important notes. Personally, I believe Todd Newton will eventually succeed Bob Barker as host of The Price is Right. At the same time, that's also what the majority of the show's fans expect. I think we're ready for TPIR to make the transition from Bob Barker to Todd Newton, come 2007. All Todd has to do is host the show his way and not try to be Bob. If Todd Newton becomes the next host of TPIR, don't be surprised-I believe he'll do a good job hosting the show.

A dark horse in all this is the shows current announcer Rich Fields.

I cast my vote for Marc Summers. God, deliver us if it ends up being Roger Lodge or Ryan Seacrest!

I hope the show continues on, but it will be difficult to find a replacement for the legendary Bob Barker...

I think the show been on 20yrs too long. I don't know how it stays on. It is amazing it's been on what 35 Years. It's a show I seldom watch. If it went off the air tomorrow it would be fine with me.

What's that supposed to mean, anyway? The Price is Right has remained on the air because the viewers like it that way. The show can continue as Bob Barker finally retires. I still believe Todd Newton will be Bob Barker's most likely successor and the show will continue with him at the helm. Fremantle Media have made their decision to keep the show going. You don't have to like it, but you're going to have to live with it. As long as the show continues to get the ratings, it will continue, no matter who the host is.
