I think they should have tryed to put out the Fire.in stead of leting the Blind School Burn Down.:D

Exactly, remember, it was just a few women and the blind children. Mostly everybody was sleeping when the fire started. The first and most important thing to do was get all the kids out safely.

And who would put out the fire? The blind kids? Mary and Adam who were blind also? Hester Sue? Hester Sue was trying to get all the blind people out of the house. There was no 911 system just yet in those times. :crazy: There was no firehouse at all in Walnut Grove. It was all abt buckets of water, and that has to be done with several people.

Yes, and that was also before they had all the non-flammable materials they use nowadays. Those all-wood houses would burn up like a rag soaked in kerosene.
