This board, and all ES boards, seems to be quite inactive, making this post pointless probably. But anyway...

I was wondering if there are any other readers of ES fanfiction here? If so, have you read any of the stories at ff.net? (I don't know of any other site with ES stories, personally). What do you think?

I'm a fan of long stories so these are a couple I really like:

The Even Stevens Novel (complete)
The Course of True Love Never Did Run Smooth (complete)
Collide (this one is slash, and it's still in-progress)

Just lookin' for someone to talk to really...

No, but I just read that novel....amazing, partly through margo/tom I became okay with it and I also became a bit disconnected from louis. Really this story was more margo's then anybody elses.

I randomly check this board again, after nothing but nothingness has happened on it, and suddenly, someone has finally replied to my ff thread!

Yeah, Tawny was definitely the central character in that one. She tends to get a pretty big role in lots of fics, actually. People seem to enjoy writing her. Or they just like her a lot.

As for the Tawny/Tom... I wasn't big on it. In fact, it was a rare instance when I wanted Louis to be with Tawny. I don't know why... something about it just didn't work for me. But the fic overall is extremely well-written. It's very good work. The ship just didn't float for me.

"Collide" is finished now too. And it is also very good, but it's slash, so, you have to be ok with that. Personally, I really like the ship in it (Ren/Tawny), so it's ok by me. That author's started another fic that is really interesting so far... it's still slash, same couple.

The guy (or girl) who wrote the novel I think should try writing books. He/She is a really good writer...that novel I read was addictive (I read it all in one (relatively anyway) sitting) It was like an ES marathon going on in my head.

Yeah, I agree. He/she is extremely talented.

A LOT of the fics in the ES section are pretty poorly written, but there are a few good writers there: Chestyr (I think that's the penname of the author of the novel), Cain, find-nowhere (though he stories are a bit odd), TriXter21 shows promise, somethinglikehuman1 is pretty good I think. And there are others whose pennames I cannot recall off the top of my head.

The main reason I'm pushing this Cain person so much is that they are current and update pretty frequently, in addition to being a decent storyteller, in my opinion. (Some of the others up there are also current, but they don't update as frequently). Of course, as I think I mentioned above, these are slash-- that seems to be the only thing going at the site these days, so... not everyone will like them no matter how well written they are (though it's a plus to note that none of the current slash fics are particularly smutty-- at least that's a plus in my book).
